#I could go into detail on specific scenes

Hey hey hey writers!!! Especially y'alls who are struggling to develop character or have white room/still character syndrome!!!
Look into Uta Hagen's acting techniques, specifically her 9 questions. I'm not kidding. She built off Stanislavski's techniques to help actors develop their characters and roles & bring that to the stage- specifically, and this is why I'm pushing Hagen specifically and not anyone else, their relationship with the set, props, other characters, setting (yes that's different from set), history and the play's plot, and how that changes how they act and speak. I have my textbook open I'll take some pictures.

If you need a transcript/image description I'll put it under the cut, they're a little blurry cause I'm bad at holding my phone... I know alt text is a thing but I don't want y'alls to have to scroll through a tiny box lmao.

The lower part of a textbook page. The text reads:
Uta Hagen's acting exercises
[Out-of-transcript note: Most of these, with the exception of Three Entrances, are less useful in terms of writers, but you could make it work, especially for roleplay.]
Basic Object Exercise: Sometimes called "two minutes of daily life," this exercise requires the actor to replicate activities from their own daily routine in specific detail (think making breakfast or getting ready to go out). The goal of this exercise is to increase the actor's awareness of their un-observed behaviour.
Three Entrances: Starting offstage, the actor enters the environment of the scene. The actor's performance should answer three questions: What did I just do? What am I going to do? What is the first thing I want?
Immediacy: Hagen asked actors to search for a small object that they need. You can perform the exercise on a set or in your home. As you search, you should observe the behaviour and thoughts that arise as you authentically try to find something. The objective is to identify the thoughts, behaviours, and sensations you experience when you genuinely don't know the outcome, so you can use them on stage.
Fourth Side: This exercise starts with a phone call to a person you know. You should call them with a specific objective in mind. During the convention, Hagen wants you to focus on your surroundings and the specific objects that your eyes rest on. The purpose is to help actors observe how they interact with all dimensions of an enclosed physical space so they can recreate privacy on stage.
Endowment: this exercise is designed to help actors apply their observed behaviours to endow props with qualities that they cannot safely have on stage. Hot irons and sharp knives are typical examples. The Endowment excercise asks actors to believably treat objects on stage as though they have the qualities the actor needs in a scene.
Uta Hagen's exercises are her greatest gift to actors working today. She developed them between Broadway jobs to solve some acting problems she had never seen anyone tackle to her satisfaction. The result is that Hagen's exercises give actors a way to observe human behaviours and catalogue it so they can recall it onstage when useful in a role.

Most of a textbook page. The image cuts off about 3 quarters of the way down the page. The text reads:
Uta Hagen's 9 Questions
Who am I? This question's answer includes all relevant details from name and age to physical traits, education, and beliefs.
What time is it? Depending on the scene, the most relevant measure of time can be the era, the season, the day, or even the specific minute.
Where am I? This answer covers the country, town, neighbourhood, room, or even the specific part of the room.
What surrounds me? Characters can be surrounded by anything from weather to furnishings, landscape or people.
What are the given circumstances? Given circumstances include what has happened, what is happening and what will happen to a character.
What are my relationships? Relationships can be with the other characters in the play, inanimate objects, or even recent events.
What do I want? Wants can be what the character desires in the moment, or in the overall course of the play. [Out-of-transcript note: I recommend figuring out both for writing, the former multiple times for whenever it changes! Outside of Hagen's technique, we call it objective and superobjective.]
What is in my way? This is the actor's chance to understand the obstacles the character must react to and overcome.
What do I do to get what I want? In Hagen's teaching, "do" means physical action.
Uta Hagen's nine questions help actors develop the granular details of their character's backstory. The questions come from Hagen's first book, "Respect for Acting," though in her later book, "A Challenge for the Actor," she condensed her original nine questions into six steps.
Uta Hagen's revised six steps to building a character are:
Who am I?
What are the circumstances?
What are my relationships?
What do I want?
What is my obstacle?
What do I do to get what I want?
Later in her life, Hagen distances herself from her first book and encouraged her students to rely on her second book, which she felt was clearer about her concepts. Both books are popular with acting teachers and students today, however. Hagen's questions and steps are the foundation for all of her acting exercises. Whether you rely on the nine questions or the six steps depends on personal preference.
Personally I like the 9 questions more, but like the book says, personal preference! So yeah, if you're a writer, try some of these out for your characters. :]

Peonies ; part one [REWRITE]
Pairing: Theo Nott x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 15.8k
Warnings: Unrequited love, jealousy from many ends, the reader is shorter than Theo, and wears a bikini. Theo calls reader fiore. Discomfort/sadness. Reader doesnât really know how to swim. Brief mentions of blood. Thereâs for sure more but Iâm gonna have to go back and add them!
A/N: Omg hi! This has been a long time coming, and not much has been added, just a couple new scenes and some more details added. Most of the rewrite will be in the second part, but it feels too much to have a 30k+ fic posted in one go. So Iâm dividing it up! Since itâs been so long I figured Iâd post this to hold you guys over, thank you for being so patient! Itâs much appreciated! <3
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
Against your better judgment, youâd fallen hard for Mattheo Riddle. And yet, you were fully aware that nothing would ever come of it.Â
Youâd grown up in the same circles, your families often crossing paths at dinners and parties, but you were never particularly close, barely acknowledging each other in those polished, formal settings. It wasnât until you both started at Hogwarts that any real friendship formed. Being eleven and navigating the overwhelming experience of a new school was daunting for anyone. When you were both sorted into Slytherin, you naturally gravitated toward each other, being the most familiar thing the other could find.
Over time, youâd been there for him more times than you could count. You were the one cleaning his cuts after a fight, always telling him it was the last time because you couldnât bear to see him get hurt. Yet, each time he showed up, you let him in with an exasperated huff, carefully tending to his wounds. When heâd appear at your door late at night, eyes dark with whatever was haunting him, youâd silently walk with him, sitting together in the quiet of the common room until the tension in his shoulders finally eased. Youâd pretend to be annoyed when he asked to copy your coursework, but in truth, you savored every moment he sat close to youâthe way his arm would brush against yours as he scribbled down your notes, the warmth of him, the scent of his cologne lingering in the air. It left you longing for him to stay close just a little longer, even though you knew he never would.
He moved from one fling to the next, a string of one-night stands that never seemed to reach his heart. While youâd never been one of them, you couldnât help but wonder what it would be like if you were. A stubborn, hopeless part of you clung to the fantasy that maybe, just maybe, heâd one day let you be the one he trusted with more than just a night tangled in the sheets.
Your friends always joked that if Mattheo ever got serious about a girl, it would be youâbut you knew the chances of that were painfully slim.
So you were caught off guard when you walked into the common room and saw a girl you barely recognized sitting with your friends. Cozied up in the same armchair as Mattheo. Your steps faltered as you approached, trying to piece together who she was and why she was sitting with your friends and more specifically, Mattheo. It wasnât that you were opposed to meeting new people, but your group had never once welcomed anyone new. Youâd tried, it didnât go as well as youâd hoped.
âHey, love.â Enzo murmurs, patting the cushion beside him on the couch. Heâs the only one whoâs noticed you so far; the rest are absorbed in their heated discussion about the latest Quidditch match. You were never particularly interested in discussing Quidditchâwhat interested you was watching Mattheo talk about it. There was just something undeniably attractive about listening to his voice when he talked about something that interested him.
You slide onto the couch next to Enzo, your gaze briefly flicking to the girl sitting directly across from you, trying to place her without being too obvious about your stare.
âHey, Enz.â You say with a soft smile, setting your bag down as you settle onto the couch.
âWhatâs going on?â You tilt your head toward the girl, and Enzo glances in her direction. Sheâs not paying attention, her gaze fixed on Mattheo with a lovesick expression, hanging onto his every word.
âIâm not sure,â Enzo replies quietly, ensuring his voice doesnât carry. âMattheo just introduced us, and weâre all a bit confused about it, too I think.â
âOh.â You murmur, and Enzo watches you carefully. He knows about your feelings for Mattheo; heâd have to be blind not to notice.
Enzo leans in closer, and you shift your gaze to him. âListen, loveââ
Enzo doesnât get to finish before a soft gasp of your name catches your attention. You look over, surprised to see the girl leaning forward with her hand extended. You briefly wonder how she knows your name and if you should know hers too.
You notice that her other hand still has a tight grip on Mattheo.
âIâm Veronica,â she says warmly, her smile never wavering. âMattheoâs girlfriend.â The way she emphasizes the word girlfriend startles youâit takes a second to register, and then it hits you like a punch to the gut.
Girlfriend. When did Mattheo Riddle start dating?Â
And why wasnât he introducing her himself?
Youâre at a loss for words, a nauseous feeling curling around you, tightening its grip until youâre not sure you could speak even if you tried. You know you should smile, should tell her how happy you are to meet her. But you canât find it in you to do so, not when youâd rather be anywhere but here.
You swallow the urge to ask if sheâs joking, if sheâs hit her head, because Mattheo Riddle isnât a relationship guy. No one knows that better than you.
Yet, youâre rooted to the spot in stunned silence, your gaze flitting between her hand, now entwined with Mattheoâs, and the soft, content smile playing on her lips.
Your mind races, struggling to process the situation thatâs just blindsided you. You always knew heâd never be yoursânot in the way you wantedâbut hearing it, seeing it laid out so plainly before you, feels like your heart has been ripped from your chest.
You force a smile,ïżœïżœso strained it makes your head spin, and you finally take her hand, the gesture automatic and devoid of real warmth. âNice to meet you.â You manage to say, though the words feel foreign on your tongue.
Her smile widens, and she shifts closer to Mattheo as if silently asserting her place by his side. Your eyes flicker to Mattheo, whose attention is pulled to Veronica as she presses closer into him. Youâre not surprised heâs been oblivious to the conversation, or lack thereof, happening next to him. Talk of Quidditch had a tendency to do that to him.
You study his face intently, searching for any hint of his feelings toward her, hoping to find anything that might betray his feelings.Â
But when you see the way he looks at herâeyes soft, filled with a tenderness youâve never seen from him beforeâyour stomach churns with a sickening mix of jealousy and heartache.Â
His eyes meet yours, and he smiles, pressing a kiss to her hair. âI didnât even see you come in. Glad youâve met my girl,âhe says, the warmth in his voice making your chest tighten.
I didnât see you. Your stomach lurches at his words.
Clearly notâif you had, you wouldnât be flaunting another girl right in front of me, you think bitterly.
You glance at Veronica as she nods enthusiastically. âMe too, Matty,â she says, her voice dripping with sweetness. âIâm already so excited for the girlsâ nights weâre going to have.â
You canât tell if sheâs genuinely that nice or just putting on a show for Mattheo. âOh yeah. That would be fun,â you say, forcing a smile that feels more like a grimace. Neither of them notices the unease behind itâtheyâre too wrapped up in each other, their attention locked in a gaze that makes you feel invisible.
The last thing you want is a girlsâ night. Pass the popcornâoh, and by the way? I want your boyfriend.
No. Absolutely not.
You tear your gaze away, the sight of them together too painful to endure, and instead turn to Enzo. âWhat the hell?â You mutter, barely managing to keep your voice steady.
âIâm sorry, love, I wanted to tell you before they did.â Enzo whispers, wincing as he gives your hand a quick squeeze. You murmur a soft âItâs okay,â but inside, youâre far from feeling that way.
Desperately, you try to compose yourself, but the effort feels pointless. As your eyes wander, they lock with Theoâs. Heâs watching you, his expression unreadable. You muster a soft smile, hoping to mask the heartbreak inside, but he doesnât return it; he just keeps watching, his gaze heavy with something you canât quite place.
You manage to stay for half an hour, offering the occasional nod and murmured agreement to feign interest in the conversation. But your mind is elsewhere, detached from the words being exchanged. No one seems to notice your distraction; theyâre all too absorbed in their own conversations to catch the distant look in your eyes.
Without realizing it, your gaze keeps drifting back to the couple. Veronica rests her head on Mattheoâs shoulder, and his hand is gently resting on her knee, his thumb brushing softly against her skin. You canât help but notice how at ease he seems with this physical intimacyâsomething youâre surprised heâd be so comfortable with.
It took Mattheo ages to grow comfortable with your touch. The first time he came over after a particularly brutal nightmare about his father, he sat hunched over on your bed, eyes hollow as he confessed he kept reliving Christmas breakâhow his dad had slapped him for something he couldnât even remember. Something so insignificant. When your hand barely grazed his back, he nearly jumped out of his skin.
It was months before your touch started to soothe him instead of making him flinch.
When Pansy casually asked how Mattheo and Veronica had met, you felt a surge of restless energy. You couldnât bear to hear that theyâd been together for months, falling in love while you remained oblivious, never realizing you never stood a chance. Without thinking, you abruptly stood up, the couch creaking loudly at the force. The sudden noise drew theattention of everyone in the room. All eyes shifted to you, their expressions a mix of surprise and curiosity as they awaited your next move.
âUm,â you winced as the roomâs gaze fixed on you, feeling the heat of their attention. âIâm coming down with a migraine. Iâm going to bed early tonight.â
Your friendsâ voices fade into the background as they shout their goodnights, the words scarcely reaching your ears. You speed through the common room and down the cold, empty hallway, desperate for the seclusion of your dorm. Just as youâve made it halfway to your room, a firm grip catches your hand. Startled, you spin around to find Theo standing there, his eyes searching yours with a mix of concern and hesitation.
âFiore,â he says softly, his voice a gentle caress in the quiet hallway. His eyes follow the tears streaming down your cheeks, and you watch through blurry vision as he takes a tentative step closer. âWhatâs going on?â
You open your mouth to respond but find yourself unable to form the words. The lump in your throat feels insurmountable. Instead, you just shake your head slightly, your tears continuing to fall one after another.
He releases a quiet sigh and says, âCome here.â Without a second thought, you step closer, encircling his waist with your arms while resting your head against his chest. His arms come up to settle around your shoulders, and he gently rests his head against yours. As you press your face into his chest, sniffling softly, he whispers soothing words in Italian, his voice a comforting murmur.Â
You must have been standing in the cold corridor for fifteen minutes before the distant murmur of approaching students prompts Theo to gently pull himself from you. He takes your hand, his touch warm against the chill, guiding you away from the freezing corridor.
âItâs just you and Pansy, right?â He asks, using his hand to guide you in front of him to let you go ahead and enter your room first.
âYeah, but sheâll probably stay with Blaise.â You say softly, the strain in your voice revealing that youâve been crying. ââTheo doesnât say anything; heâs long since lost count of the times heâs told them off for leaving the curtains open or forgetting to cast a silencing spell. Instead, he follows you into your dorm, the door clicking softly behind him.
The walls are lined with polaroids of the group, and Theoâs gaze lingers on the numerous pictures of you and Mattheo. Your dark wood desk is topped with a silver lamp and a few textbooks, its surface cluttered with quills and scattered notes. Mattheoâs jersey is draped over the back of your chair, and Theo recalls all the times seeing you wear it at each game. Your teddy, a well-worn bear that Theo recognizes as the same one you bring every year, sits at the top of your desk.Â
The room feels markedly warmer than the corridor outside, though it might just be because itâs your room.
âYou can sit.â You offer. Theoâs eyes move to where youâre perched on the edge of your bed watching him.
Youâve kicked off your shoes and tossed your robes over your trunk. He swallows, his gaze lingering on you. Despite the tear stains on your cheeks, he finds it hard to look awayâyouâre the prettiest girl heâs ever seen. Heâs always thought so.
Itâs rare for him to spend time with you alone. Usually, when youâre together, itâs with the rest of your friends. Over the years, youâve been paired up in classes a few times, but neither of you has ever gone out of your way to be alone together.
He sits down next to you on the bed, deliberately leaving some space between you. For a while, neither of you speaks. When Theo finally glances at you out of the corner of his eye, he notices you staring at a polaroid of you and Mattheo. It was taken at a party celebrating Slytherinâs win. In the photo, youâre perched on his lap, one arm casually draped around his shoulder, the other holding up a cup of whatever you were drinking. Your smile is bright, full of life, while Mattheoâs is more subdued, but thereâs no mistaking the way heâs looking at youâcontent, almost in awe, as you laugh above him.
He was sure you two were going to get together that nightâand he nearly drank himself blackout drunk at the thought.
âHey,â He murmurs. You hum to show youâre listening, but donât look away from the picture. âYou know Iâm here for you. In any way you need me.â
You canât tear your eyes away from the picture at first, your teeth sinking into your bottom lip as you stare at it. Finally, you let out a sigh and turn to him, âI appreciate that. But how fair would it be for me to vent about your best friend to you?â
Itâs the first time heâs ever heard you say anything that hints at your feelings for Mattheo.
âI donât care about him right now. I care about you.â He says, and you look a tad surprised at his words.
Thereâs a moment of quiet as you process Theoâs words. Heâs always been Mattheoâs best friend, so hearing him dismiss Mattheo like that catches you off guard. You hesitate, not wanting to unload all your feelings onto him, especially since the mere thought of talking about Mattheo and Veronica makes your stomach turn.
âTheo,â you sigh, your voice tinged with vulnerability, on the verge of breaking. He can hear how close you are to tears. âWill you lie with me? If thatâs weird, I understandââ
But before you can finish, Theo gently takes your hand, his grip warm and reassuring, leaving no room for doubt. He gives a small nod, silently gesturing for you to lie down, and you follow his lead.Â
âWhere do you want me, fiore?â He asks, his voice soft. You feel a momentary hesitation, your heart stuttering at the tenderness in his tone.
âUm,â you murmur, turning onto your side, feeling the unease settling in your stomach. Not because you feel uncomfortable around Theo, but because this is wildly different for the both of you. âWill you face me?â
Theo doesnât hesitate. He moves effortlessly, sliding into place beside you. You watch as he slips off his shoes and sets them aside, then settles himself on the bed, positioning his body so heâs facing you. You find yourself holding your breath, acutely aware of how close he isâhow youâre sharing the same pillow and could study every detail of his face if you wanted to.
âWhy did you follow me?â You ask, and his eyes flicker up to meet yours.
âI got the impression you needed someone.â You donât say anything to that, just take in his words. It startles you that Theoâsomeone youâre hardly close withânoticed, instead of Mattheo, whoâs seen you at your worst more times than you can count.
âThank you.â You say, and you cringe inwardly at the way your voice wavers. Thereâs nothing hiding the sadness in your voice, itâs impossible to mask.
His eyes gently trace your features, a soft concern evident in his expression as he takes in the sight of you, âFor?â
âLaying with me. Coming to check on me,â Your voice drops to a whisper and your eyes well up in tears when you think about why you were upset in the first place. âIt means a lot.â
Theo lets out a soft hum, his gaze soft as he lifts his hand to gently brush away a tear that slips from your eye. The gentleness of his fingers against your face feels soothing; youâve never had anyone touch you like this before.
You shift closer to Theo, and for a moment, he tenses, as if unsure of your proximity. The hesitation makes you wonder if this closeness is too much, but then he wraps his arm around you and draws you in, holding you firmly against him. You wonder if it should feel awkward, letting Theo hold you this close when the two of you have never been this close before, but you canât find it in yourself to care. You let your eyes flutter shut, inhaling his cologneâsurprisingly more comforting to you than Mattheoâsâand feeling the warmth of his body through his shirt.
As his fingers move gently over your hair, a calming touch, you rest your head against his chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat becomes a soothing reminder that you arenât alone, and soon you find yourself drifting off, wrapped in the quiet of your dorm.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
When you wake up, Theo is gone, and youâre not sure if youâre more disappointed or relieved. Given how you feel, youâre leaning toward the latter. Your head throbs with a sharp, relentless ache, and your puffy eyes serve as a reminder of the tears you shed last night.
Youâre nearly done getting ready when Pansy slips into the dorm, her brows knitting in surprise as she takes in the sight of you.Â
Her gaze lingers on the dark circles under your eyes and the slight tremor in your hands as you fix your tie, âI didnât think youâd be leaving the dorm today.â
âWhat is that supposed to mean?â You snap, and Pansy raises an amused brow at the agitation in your voice.
âI didnât think youâd be in the mood to see them.â She heads to her trunk, her current clothes rumpled and clearly in need of a fresh uniform. You donât need her to spell it outâyou know exactly who sheâs talking about.
âI left because I had a migraine.â You grit out and she glances over her shoulder, obviously amused and doubtful at your answer.
âReally? A migraine after seeing those two?â Pansy hums, rummaging through her trunk with deliberate slowness, her eyes flicking to you as if gauging your reaction. âThey were all over each other last night. Whoâs to say they wonât be again today?â
You stiffen at the mention of Mattheo and his girlfriend, your fingers pausing on your tie. The events of last night rushbackâVeronicaâs hand on Mattheo, the way he looked at her. You feel a fresh wave of nausea but push it down, not wanting to give Pansy the satisfaction of knowing she was right.
âIt doesnât bother me.â You mutter, trying to sound indifferent, though your voice wavers slightly. You force your hands to finish with your tie, pulling it tighter than necessary.
Pansy glances over at you, a flicker of something like sympathy in her eyes, as she drops the amused smirk, âYou know you can tell me, right? About how you feel about him.â
You study Pansy, debating whether to finally say what youâve kept to yourself for so long. Itâs only been hours since you basically admitted it to Theo, and now telling Pansy feels like too muchâthough youâre sure theyâd suspected for a while. But voicing it out loud feels like stepping into territory youâre not ready to face.
âWhat difference does it make, Pans? Heâs got a girlfriend now.â You sigh, the sadness from last night seeping into your words. She abandons her trunk, standing up to fully face you, her expression unreadable.
âIf it helps, we were all surprised.â She says, her voice unexpectedly gentle. Thatâs not normally a word youâd use in the same sentence as her name. âNone of us had a clue he was sleeping with anyone more than once.â
Your stomach churns further, âI donât think that really helps, Pans.â
âFuck, Iâm sorry,â she says, her eyes scanning your face for any sign of comfort. âI could make her life a nightmare if you want. Maybe then sheâd decide itâs not worth it.â
âNo,â you say, wincing as you stare at the wall, feeling the heaviness of the room. âI want him to be happy, and if shemakes him happy, then I need to accept it. Even if it hurts.â
Pansy narrows her eyes, disbelief crossing her face. âAre you joking? Youâd make him happyââ
âPansy,â you cut her off, frustration making your voice sharper. âI donât need you to fix this. I just need to figure out how to deal with it myself.â
Pansy falls silent, her gaze shifting as she takes in the raw pain on your face, a flicker of guilt passing over her expression. She heads off to change, leaving you on your bed, the weight of her offer hanging in the air. You sit there, lost in thought, waiting for her to finish getting ready. Despite her nights spent with Blaise, you both always made a point to walk to breakfast together.
When Pansy finally emerges, you both make your way to the Great Hall in quiet unison. The hum of conversation and the steady flow of students around you create a backdrop of normalcy.
âWhat did you do after you left last night?â Pansy asks, her gaze shifting from the bustling corridor to you.
âHad a good cry.â You reply, trying to keep your tone light despite the heaviness you feel.
Pansyâs brow furrows. âBabes, you shouldnât have been alone.â
âI wasnât.â You say, almost reluctantly.
âWhat do you mean?â
âTheo came back to the dorm with me,â you explain, your voice softer now. âHe stayed with me, just⊠holding me, until I fell asleep.â
Pansyâs eyes widen slightly, and she falls quiet for a moment, âHe did?â
You let out a soft hum, and Pansy grips at your hand, her touch both firm and reassuring. Her eyes reflect a mix of concern and guilt as she looks at you.
âIâm sorry,â she says, her voice softening with sincerity. âI shouldâve come to check on you instead of leaving it to Theo. I didnât realize your feelings for Mattheo were this strong. I thought it was a harmless crush, I really didnât know.â
You shake your head slightly, your gaze dropping to where her fingers clasp yours. âItâs okay,â you murmur, trying to steady your voice. âTheo being there helped more than I thought it would. Iâm glad I wasnât alone.â
Pansy nods, her expression softening. âI wish Iâd known,â she says quietly. âI wouldâve gone with you immediately. I just thought you needed some space.â
You offer a small, appreciative smile, grateful for her concern. âThanks, Pansy. It means a lot.â
Pansy pulls you into a warm hug, and despite the heaviness in your chest, you canât help but chuckle at the unexpected show of affection. When she finally lets go, she takes your hand and leads you toward the Great Hall.Â
As you make your way to the Slytherin table, your spirits, momentarily lifted by Pansyâs support, are quickly deflated when you see whoâs occupying your usual spot.
A heavy weight settles in your stomach as you spot Veronica nestled against Mattheoâs side, her head tilted as she whispers something into his ear. His laughter, genuine and warm, makes your appetite vanish. You decide that youâre not very hungry anymore.
You swallow hard, struggling to keep your emotions in check. Pansy gives your hand a comforting squeeze and tilts her head toward an empty seat beside Theo. Usually, Theo would be next to his best friend with you on the other side sandwiching Mattheo, but today heâs positioned next to Draco across from where he normally would be. You hesitate, not wanting to assume he saved the spot for you, but then Theo turns and offers you a gentle smileâa smile youâve never seen him give anyone else. As you stand there, he reaches out with that soft smile, his hand extended to gently guide you into the seat beside him.
You settle into the seat beside Theo, and with a resigned sigh, you reach for some food to add to your plate. Even though your appetite is all but gone, you know itâs important to eat. That and you know Pansy would shove it down your throat if you didnât.
Theo leans in slightly, his voice a low murmur as he meets your gaze. âIâm sorry I wasnât there when you woke up,â he says quietly. âI had something I needed to take care of.â
âThatâs alright,â You murmur, sending him a quick, soft smile. âWere you able to get any sleep last night?â
Theo hesitates, unsure whether to tell you that it was the best sleep heâs had in a while or simply agree. He settles for a nod, âUh yeah. I slept pretty well. Did you?â
âAs well as I could,â You shrug, âBut it was nice having you there.â You send him a shy smile, your gaze dipping back down to the tea youâre stirring, and he struggles to resist the urge to offer to stay the night with you again.
âI meant what I said. Iâm here for you in any way that you need me.â You turn towards him, your expression softening as you take in the genuine look on his face. Your lips part, but you canât manage to get anything past them. The way heâs looking at you makes you nervous.
âOi! What are you two whispering about?â Theoâs head snaps toward Draco, who is watching you both with a look of clear distaste at the way you were leaning into each other, gazing at one another so intently.
âNothing.â Theo snaps out, and Draco raises an eyebrow at the sharpness in his tone. A sly grin begins to form on Dracoâs face as he opens his mouth to speak, but Theo interrupts with a low murmur that you canât quite make out. Draco doesnât say anything, but faces his breakfast with a disgruntled look on his face.
Theo engages in a lively conversation with Enzo and Draco, leaving you content to eat in quiet. However, itâs not long before Veronicaâs giggles start to cut through the silence, growing louder with each passing moment. When you finally look up, your heart sinks. Mattheoâs arm is wrapped around her waist, pulling her close as he murmurs something into her ear. She glances up at him, still laughing, and Mattheo leans in, pressing a kiss to her lips.
Overwhelmed, you instinctively reach for Theoâs thigh, your hand gripping it tightly as you try to steady yourself. Theo looks at you, startled by your sudden reaction, but youâre not meeting his gaze. Instead, he follows your line of sight to where Mattheo and Veronica are entwined, lost in their own world.Â
He drops his fork with a sigh, his hand immediately reaching out to grasp yours with a firm, reassuring grip. His touch is warm as he gently pulls your focus from the scene before you. Theoâs gaze lingers on the tear-brimmed edges of your eyes, his expression concerned. He glances at your friends, still lost in their animated conversation, and feels a pang of relief that theyâre oblivious to the devastation written across your face.
âCâmon,â he murmurs, rising from his seat while maintaining a firm hold on your hand. With a quick, reassuring glance, he leans down to grab your bag. âIâll walk you to class a bit early.â
Without a word, you follow him, casting a glance back at Pansy. You silently mouth âclassâ to her as she watches you with curiosity from over your shoulder. If your friends notice the way Theoâs hand is intertwined with yours, they make no mention of it.
The moment youâre out in the hall, it feels like you can finally breathe again. A few tears slip down your cheeks, and you cling tightly to Theoâs hand as you walk, finding some comfort in the feel of him. You appreciate how he doesnât push you to talk or ask any questions, just quietly staying by your side. Thereâs a relief in knowing heâs there if you need him, without the pressure to say anything.
After a couple of minutes of walking, you squeeze his hand and Theo glances over at you, âIâm not sure how Iâm going to do this.â
He squeezes your hand back, âWhat do you mean?â
âSeeing them together,â You mumble. âIt fucking sucks.â
âIâm sorry, fiore.â He speaks softly, wishing he had the right words to offer, some way to tell you how to get over someone. But the truth is, heâs still trying to figure it out himself.
âWill you help me get over him?â Theoâs steps falter slightly at your question, his heart aching at the helplessness in your voice. He swallows, the meaning of your words sinking in. You donât seem to realize what it sounds like youâre asking him for.
He glances at you, unease settling in his stomach, âHow exactly?â He briefly considers the fact that whatever you ask of him could make him fall for you more. But as long as it meant you were happy.
You hesitate, your gaze dropping to the floor as you search for the right words. âI donât know,â you admit, your voice barely above a whisper. âJust⊠be there, I guess. Help me forget about him. Distract me.â
Theo nods slowly, his mind racing. He wants to say something, to offer more than just his presence, but he knows that pushing too hard might make things worse. Instead, he gently squeezes your hand again, his thumb brushing over your knuckles in a comforting rhythm.
âI can do that,â he murmurs, his voice steady despite the nerves inside him. âIâm here for whatever you need.â
You offer him a small, grateful smile, and he can see the hint of sadness still lingering in your eyes. It breaks his heart, but he pushes those feelings aside. Right now, what matters is helping you heal, even if it means hiding his own growing feelings for you.
As you continue walking, Theo keeps you close, his hand never leaving yours. And though he doesnât say it out loud, he silently vows to do whatever it takes to make you smile again, even if it means keeping his own heartache hidden in the process.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
By the time you reach your dorm, exhaustion weighs heavily on you. Youâve spent the entire day with your head down, avoiding any sight of Mattheo and Veronica. The silence between you and Mattheo feels foreign; itâs the first time youâve gone a whole day without speaking to him, and youâre unsure if he even noticed your absence.
Unfortunately, you share several classes with both Mattheo and, evidently, Veronica. The sound of her laugh has become something you never want to hear again.
You kick off your shoes, fatigue weighing heavily on your limbs as you move towards your bed. As you pass your desk, something catches your eyeâa bundle of red flowers sitting on top of your books. You pause, your curiosity piqued, and approach the desk. With a gentle touch, you lift the bundle, revealing vibrant red peonies. Their rich color stands out against the soft light filtering through the window, and their subtle, sweet fragrance fills the air.
Your eyes catch a note nestled among the flowers. You bite your lip to hide a smile as you read his messy handwriting: your name followed by a simple heart.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
Last night had been brutal. Sleep barely touched you; your mind was flooded with images of Mattheo and Veronica, leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. The thought of them together was unbearableâit made your head throb and your stomach churn. You hated it. Hated how it made you feel. But no matter how tightly you shut your eyes, your thoughts wouldnât quiet. So you gave up on rest entirely, dragging yourself out of bed before the sun had even risen, hoping that a book might be enough to distract you from the images popping up in your head.
It was quiet in the common roomâso quiet, you werenât sure it would be enough to drown out the rancid thoughts circling your head. But you sat down anyway, curled up beside the fire with a blanket draped around your shoulders.
Reading ended up helping, so much so that you didnât even hear anyone come in. You nearly jumped out of your skin when, out of the corner of your eye, you caught someone sitting in the chair beside you.
âYou scared me.â You mutter, shooting him a look as he keeps his eyes fixed on the fire in front of him.
âDidnât mean to,â Mattheo mumbles, finally glancing over at you. âWhat are you doing up?â
âI couldnât sleep,â you say with a shrug, praying he wonât ask why. âIâm guessing itâs the same for you?â
He sighs, and you know the answer right away, âThe usual.â
The words rise in your throat, begging to ask why he didnât come to youâbut you swallow them down, because deep down, you already know the answer. That was someone elseâs job now.
So instead, you stay quietâheâs never been one to talk after a nightmare. He prefers silence, sitting with it, letting it settle while he works through whateverâs clawing at him.
âI havenât seen much of you.â You murmur after a good ten minutes of silence. Itâs not easy to focus on reading when the person youâve missed so achingly is sitting right in front of you. It was hard not to say anythingâyouâd barely made it through a page of your book, too distracted by stealing glances at him. You always thought he looked his most beautiful like thisâhair tousled, eyes heavy with sleep. It was a kind of vulnerability only you were ever allowed to see.
He sighs, leaning back in the chair as his hand threads through his hair. âBeen busy. You know how it is.â The smirk that tugs at his lips makes your stomach twist. You donât know how it isânot really. Youâve been too busy waiting around for him to find out.
âOh,â you choke out. âWell, maybe this weekend we could do something? It feels like itâs been ages since weâve done anything.â
âYeah,â he agrees, and your spirits lift for a second. âIâll have to check in with Veronica first, though.â
âCheck in?â You repeat, a frown tugging at your brow.
âI donât want her thinking Iâm neglecting our relationship, you know?â He explains, and you swallow down the scoff that threatens to leave your lips. Like youâre doing with ours?
âSure, I understand.â You say, but you really donât. But you have no right to voice that. Heâs in a relationship now, and you have to learn to respect that.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
Itâs well past midnight when a knock echoes at your door. You sigh, adjusting your shorts as you reluctantly crawl off your bed, leaving your notes sprawled across the covers. As you swing the door open, you find Theo standing there, his gaze lifting from the floor to meet yours. A hesitant smile plays on his lips, as if heâs unsure whether heâs welcome at this late hour.
âHi.â You greet him with a mix of confusion and warmth, offering a sweet smile. You pull the door open wider, and Theoâs gaze briefly flickers over your tiny sleep shorts and oversized shirt before he meets your eyes again.
âPansyâs at our dorm.â He says, his voice soft.
You let out a quiet laugh, âI know that.â
He hesitates, searching for the right words. âI just thought... maybe you wouldnât want to be alone tonight.â
âOh,â you say, surprised, your lips parting as you glance over your shoulder into your room. Theoâs heart races, a wave of panic surging through him as he mentally scolds himself for not holding back. Offering to stay the night with you felt impulsive, but the moment he saw Pansy enter his dorm, his thoughts had gone straight to you.
âShit,â Theo shifts uncomfortably, running a hand through his hair. âIâm sorry,â he murmurs, the words tumbling out before he can stop them. âI justâwhen I saw Pansy, I couldnât help but think you might need someone tonight. But if youâd rather be alone, I can go.â
After you asked Theo to help you get over Mattheo, you wondered if it had been too much to ask of him. But to your surprise, youâve spent nearly every day of the past three weeks with Theo. You knew he had his own worriesâbetween school, Quidditch, and the pressure from his father. But the morning after you asked for his help, he was there.Â
You never expected him to put so much effort into helping you move on from Mattheo, but you couldnât be more grateful.Â
You hadnât seen much of Mattheo since that early morning youâd run into him in the common room a couple of weeks ago. Heâd been wrapped up with Veronicaâyouâd really only caught glimpses of them around the castle now and then, and the boys hadnât stopped grumbling about their mate being stolen. It bothered you more than you cared to admit. You missed your best friend, even when you were agitated with him. Still, you were doing your best to respect his relationship, which meant spending more time with the groupâminus the new couple. As it turned out, the distraction was a welcome one.
âNo,â you quickly respond, a smile spreading across your face as you reach out and grasp his hand, gently tugging him inside. âIâm glad you came.â
Theo visibly relaxes at your touch, allowing you to gently pull him into the room. As the door clicks shut behind him, sealing out the quiet corridor, his initial hesitation melts away. He takes in the familiar surroundings of your room, which, despite being a bit messier than usual, feels even more comforting in the warm, dim light with you.
He swallows his disappointment as you release his hand to clear your bed of scattered notes. Standing there awkwardly, he tries to keep his gaze focused, making an effort not to let his eyes drift down your legs as you lean over to pick up the last piece of parchment.
After you place everything neatly on your desk, you turn to face him, leaning casually against the edge with a soft smile. âAre you okay with sharing my bed again?â you ask, your voice light but sincere. âOr if youâd prefer, I can sleep in Pansyâs bed so youâll have more room.â
Theo bites his tongue, fighting to keep his voice steady and avoid sounding overeager. He doesnât want more room; what he wants is to wake up with you pressed close against him, just as he did weeks ago. This time, though, heâs determined to stay and enjoy the feeling of you in his arms.
He clears his throat, âYour bed is fine.â
âI was actually about to head to bed before you knocked, but I can stay up if you wanted to do something.â You offer, your voice gentle and inviting.
Theo shakes his head slightly, a faint smile tugging at his lips, âThanks, but Iâm pretty wiped out from practice today.â He admits, and you can hear the exhaustion seeping through his words.
âYou shouldâve gone to bed at your dorm, you wouldâve been asleep sooner.â You say with a slight frown as you notice just how tired he looks from the day.
âNo,â He shrugs. âI wouldnât have been able to sleep knowing you were here alone.â
If your heart could have melted, it would have done so right then.
Theoâs eyes hold yours for a moment longer before he glances away, almost as if heâs embarrassed by his own admission. You press your lips together, trying to hide the giddy smile threatening to break through. The idea that he cared that much for you made your insides flutter, warmth spreading through your chest.
Pushing away from the desk, you walk over to your bed and pull back the covers. Theo watches as you crawl in, adjusting the pillows before looking back at him. The unspoken question hangs in the airâare you going to join me?
He hesitates, slowly dropping his bag at the foot of your bed before moving closer to the edge. Heâs slept in a bed with a girl before, but this feels wildly different. You make him nervous, and he has no idea how to hide it when heâs this close to you.
You settle into the covers, the mattress dipping slightly under your weight as you shift, and watch as Theo does the same, kicking off his shoes and slipping under the covers beside you.
Once the lights are off, silence settles between you, not at all uncomfortable. The only sound in the room is the soft rustling of sheets as Theo shifts beside you. You lie on your side, trying to make out his form in the darkness as your eyes slowly adjust. You can tell heâs lying on his back, staring up at the ceiling, lost in his own thoughts.
âI appreciate everything youâve done for me over the past couple of weeks.â You say softly, and Theo turns his head to look at you.
âYeah?â
You hum, reaching out your fingers to brush against his hand, and he takes it without hesitation, his grip warm and reassuring, âYeah.â
Itâs become a habit in the last couple of weeksâintertwining his fingers with yours. He would grab your hand every time he noticed your discomfort around Mattheo and Veronica. And at some point, you just started reaching for his hand yourself. You liked the warmth of his palm against yours and the way heâd brush his thumb over the back of your hand.
âYou know I donât mind, right? Spending all this time with you has been nice. We never really hung out much, just us two.â He says softly.
You nod, feeling a warmth spread through your chest at his words. âYeah, I know. Itâs been nice for me too,â you admit, your eyes meeting his in the dark. You both fall into silence, and it doesnât take long before you drift off to sleep, your hand still clasped in his.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
Panic hits as you suddenly realize the timeâyouâre running late. By now, you should already be at breakfast.
âTheo,â you whisper urgently, trying to shift out of his hold. The sheets are tangled around your legs, your back pressed firmly against his chest. His arms are locked around your waist, holding you close, and heâs not loosening his grip. His body is warm against yours, and even as you try to move, his grip tightens slightly, like heâs not ready to let go just yet. âTheo.â
âFiore,â he murmurs, voice rough with sleep, and you freeze at the sound of that deeper, morning rasp. âQuit moving.âHis grip tightens just enough to keep you still, his breath warm against the back of your neck.
âWe have to get up,â you huff, trying to slip out of his arms, but Theo just pulls you back against him, his hold firm. âWeâre late.â
âWeâll just skip.â He mutters, his voice still low and groggy. The idea is temptingâstaying wrapped in his warmth instead of braving the cold corridorsâbut you sigh inwardly, knowing better.
Youâd grown used to Theoâs small gestures of affection over the past few weeks, and youâd been just as affectionate in return. But waking up tangled in his arms like this felt different, more intimate. You were certain that once Theo fully woke up, heâd be a little sheepish about how closely he was holding you now.
âWe really canât,â you sigh, trying once more. âWe need to get goingââ Theo grumbles in response, finally loosening his grip and releasing you. A triumphant smile tugs at your lips as you slip out of bed, quickly heading to get ready. You racethrough brushing your teeth and pull on your uniform, skipping any attempt at fixing your hair in the rush. By the time you step out of the bathroom, Theo is standing by the bed, just finishing the last button on his shirt, looking just as disheveled as you feel.
You hurry Theo out of your room as he finishes brushing his teeth, and he complies, adjusting his tie as you both sprint toward the Great Hall. Just before joining the bustling breakfast crowd, you grab Theo by the arm, pausing to smooth down his disheveled hair.
âIs it a mess?â He asks, watching you closely as you stand on your toes to thread your fingers through his hair in an attempt to fix it.
âJust a bit,â you smile, stepping back on your heels and giving his hair a final nod of approval. âHowâs mine?â
âPretty,â Theo responds immediately, his gaze lingering. âIâve never seen your hair like this before.âÂ
You bite the inside of your cheek to stifle your smile at his compliment. You had let your hair fall naturally, and his reaction makes you feel unexpectedly warm.
You mumble a shy âthank youâ before leading the way into the Great Hall, Theo trailing close behind. His cheeks are still tinged pink from the way your fingers had grazed through his hair, and heâs quietly grateful you havenât seemed to notice. However, his relief is short-lived when he catches Dracoâs eye, who immediately notices the pink tint and raises an eyebrow in amused surprise.
As you make your way to the table, Draco leans back in his seat with a smirk, raising an eyebrow. âWell, well, if it isnât the lovebirds gracing us with their presence.â
âFuck off.â Theo grumbles under his breath as he lets you slide into your new seat before settling in beside you. Ever since your usual spot had been taken, youâd claimed the one next to Theo, and not just in the Great Hall. You found yourself gravitating toward him in class, the common roomâanywhere you could. It had become a newly formed habit, one that neither of you seemed keen on breaking.
âI shouldâve figured thatâs where you disappeared to last night,â Enzo says with a knowing smirk. âYou two have been spending an awful lot of time together lately, havenât you?â
You really had. Theo had taken to meeting you outside your last class of the day, content to walk around the castle or by the lake, just so you could avoid witnessing Mattheo and Veronica together. You had learned he was the perfect study partnerâfar more patient than Mattheo, who would get restless after twenty minutes and start pleading for a break. He seemed to remember every little detail you shared, from how you took your tea to the smallest quirks about yourself.
Heâd been so attentive to you that you overheard some girls in the year below talking about how Theo Nott was no longer single.
Theo gives him a flat, unimpressed glare, clearly not in the mood for Enzoâs comments, âYet again, fuck off.â
âWell, have you two got anything to tell us?â Blaise prodded, a smug grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. He was teasing, sureâbut there was a hint of hope beneath it, a quiet wish that the two of you would finally admit to being together. Theo was the happiest Blaise had ever seen him, and he knew it had everything to do with you. It always did.
Theo looks up from serving himself breakfast, shooting Blaise a sharp, warning glance. He could handle the teasing from the boys himself, but he didnât want you to be caught in the crossfire, especially if it made you uncomfortable.
âNo.â Theo replies flatly, his gaze flicking to you. You return it with an amused, yet sympathetic smile. Unconsciously, a soft, faint smile tugs at his lips, a detail the boys are quick to notice.
âAre you sure? Becauseââ Blaise starts but is quickly interrupted.
âI think you two would be perfect together,â Veronica cuts in, her voice dripping with an overly sweet tone as she flashes a saccharine smile. âDonât you think so, Matty?â she adds, glancing over at Mattheo with a raised eyebrow.
Your eyes meet Mattheoâs for a fleeting moment, and he holds your gaze. You barely registered them, so absorbed in the boysâ teasing of you and Theo. And honestly, youâre still unsettled by what he said the other dayâhis comment about not wanting to neglect his relationship with Veronica. What about your friendship? Was that something that was okay to neglect?
Clearly, as much as you tried to shake it, there was still some bitterness there.
For just a moment, thereâs something unreadable in his gazeâsomething that makes your heart falterâbut it vanishes as quickly as it appeared.
âYeah,â he agrees, his gaze shifting between you and Theo while Veronica cozies up to him, resting her head on his shoulder. âYou two would be.â
A knot tightens in your stomach, and your appetite evaporates. The lightness youâd felt just moments before vanishes, replaced by a heavy weight. Even though you knew Mattheo didnât have feelings for you, hearing him so openly agree with the idea of you with Theo stings more than you expected.
As long as youâd known him, Mattheo had never been in a serious relationship, let alone had a girlfriend. Now that he was with Veronica, it was painfully clear that you were never truly an option for him. If you had been, he would have made a move. You had dropped hints for years, and his playful flirting had always kept your hopes alive.
But maybe thatâs all your relationship was ever meant to beâa friendship with a hint of flirtation. If thatâs the case, you needed to move on. Fixating on a guy who now had a girlfriend was a losing battle. If you werenât careful, you might risk losing the friendship you valued so much.
Youâre so caught up in your thoughts, pushing the food around on your plate, that you donât even hear the chatter of your friends going on around you. It isnât until Enzo tosses a grape at you that you glance up, âAre you coming tomorrow?â
You immediately know heâs referring to the Quidditch match. Youâd missed the last game, which had surprised everyone, but you werenât in the right head space to watch Veronica cheer for Mattheo.
You nod. âI planned on it.â
âGood,â Pansy interjects matter-of-factly. âI missed having you there.â You offer her a smile, but it falters when you see Veronica nudge Mattheo. He clears his throat and turns to you, his expression unreadable.
âSpeaking of the game,â Mattheo starts, his voice slicing through the breakfast chatter. âI need my jersey back.â
Your brows knit together in confusion, and it takes you a moment to find your voice, âI donât understandââ
âMy jersey,â Mattheo repeats, his gaze steady as he watches you. âI need it for tomorrow.â
âDid something happen to yours?â You ask, caught off guard. Youâd always kept one of his jerseys while he kept the other. It had become a sort of tradition between you.
Mattheo hesitates momentarily, a flicker of something like regret crossing his features. âNo, itâs just... I need it back now.â
âOh.â You say softly, your voice barely more than a whisper. Veronicaâs eyes dart between the two of you, her brow knitting in irritation as she takes in the way Mattheoâs gaze lingers on you.
Theoâs eyes watch you with careful intensity. And when he catches the flash of hurt in your expression, he reaches out and intertwines his fingers with yours beneath the table, his touch reminding you that heâs there if you need him. You squeeze his hand back immediately.
âIâm wearing it,â Veronica interjects, her tone bordering on something nasty. âIâm his girlfriend. It would be a bit strange if you kept wearing it.â
Your gaze flickers to hers, and a familiar twist of dislike coils in your stomach. You hadnât been her biggest fan when you first met, but youâd tried to make an effort. That morning, after seeing Mattheo in the common room, youâd even asked Veronica if she wanted to hang out. You told yourself it was a healthy stepâgetting to know her might help you understand what Mattheo saw in her. Maybe if you saw why heâd fallen for her, it would be easier to let go. The feelings you had for Mattheo? Those were going to be long gone soon.
But sheâd barely spared you a glance, tossing a dismissive look over her shoulder before slamming her book shut and rising to face you, âWhen I said weâd have a girlsâ night, I didnât actually mean it.â
Your lips parted, confusion knitting your brows. âIt doesnât have to be a girlsâ night,â you offered, trying to keep your tone light. âI just thought maybe we could grab lunchâjust the two of us, or even with Mattheo, if thatâs more comfortââ
âI donât have time,â she cut in sharply, lifting her books in emphasis. âBesides, tonightâs date night for Matty and me. Itâd be weird if you tagged along.â
You bit back the retortââI didnât say tonightââdeciding her tone said enough. Youâd tried, but her attitude had made things crystal clear. You didnât like herâand nothing was changing that.
Your friends exchange glances, their confusion palpable as they watch Mattheo allow Veronica to speak to you with such disdain. Theyâve seen him start fights over someone supposedly speaking badly of you, so this new passivity is surprising. Enzoâs eyes widen in disbelief, and he mouths a quick âwhat the hellâ to Draco, whose puzzled expression mirrors his own.
Everyone, except Mattheo it seems, has noticed that Veronica has gone from bright and friendly to curt and possessive over the past few weeks. At first, everyone agreed she seemed sweetâconfused about how she ended up with Mattheo, but sweet nonetheless. But the longer the relationship went on, the more Veronicaâs personality seemed to shift. It became clear she wasnât a fan of them, especially not you.
When you remain silent, Veronica sighs impatiently, âDid you hear meââ
âYeah, I get it,â you snap, your frustration evident. You turn your gaze back to Mattheo. âIâll give it to you later.â
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
You spent all your classes obsessing over returning Mattheoâs jersey, and no matter how hard you tried, it was getting under your skin. It wasnât just any jerseyâit was the one Mattheo had given you, the one youâd worn countless times. His new relationship with Veronica had stung, but this felt even worse. Maybe it was because taking back the jersey felt like a tangible sign that Mattheo was serious about Veronica, and it drove home the reality of how much things had changed.
Logically, you understood why it was reasonable. Having another girl wear your boyfriendâs jersey would be uncomfortable, and if the roles were reversed, youâd feel the same way. But knowing that didnât make it any easier. You found Veronica irritating, and the thought of giving up something that meant so much to youâboth the jersey and Mattheoâwas unbearable.
By the time you made it to your dorm, you were in a foul mood. The plan had been simple: stay holed up all day and hope that, by tomorrow, youâd be completely over Mattheo Riddle.
Youâd barely been lounging on your bed for ten minutes when the door burst open. âGet ready, weâre heading down to the Black Lake,â Pansy announced the moment she stepped inside. You glanced up to see her toss her bag onto the bed before rifling through her clothes like she hadnât just disrupted your entire plan for the day.
âSorry, this is what Iâm doing for the rest of the day.â Pansy looks up and quirks an eyebrow at youâan unmistakable This? Really? written all over her face
âItâs not. I told the boys you were coming.âÂ
âWhy?â You ask, annoyance flickering through your veins.
âBecause youâve been in a mood since breakfast and you need a distraction,â she says, tossing a black bikini onto her bed before heading over to your side of the room to dig through your wardrobe. âBesides, itâs nice out, and I need a tan.â
âA mood? Did you not hear him? He wants his jersey back!â You snap, sitting up in bed and flinging your arm toward the garment draped over the back of your chair.
âI know, babe,â Pansy says with a sigh. âBut whatâs the point in arguing? Itâs not going to change anything. His girlfriend already doesnât like you, and if you push it, youâll end up seeing him even less.â
She barely spares you a glance as she goes through your clothes, and your stomach sinks. Youâve hardly seen Mattheo as it isâbut the thought of not speaking him at all? Thatâs the last thing you want.
Itâs not long before youâre spreading out your towel and sinking down beside Pansy. Sheâs already reclined, sunglasses balanced on the bridge of her nose, a satisfied sigh slipping past her lips as the sun warms her skin.
âI needed this.â Pansy hums, and you glance over at her.
âI think itâd be a lot more relaxing if they werenât here.â You mutter, your gaze flicking to where Mattheo sits behind Veronica, obediently rubbing sunscreen on her back as she directs him like a puppet.
Pansy cracks one eye open, follows your line of sight, and groans. âThey werenât supposed to be. Mattheo mustâve overheard the guys talking about it.â
Your jaw tightens as you watch him finish with her shoulders, leaning forward to press a kiss to her neck. She lets out a high-pitched squeal of his name, and suddenly, you regret not fighting harder to stay curled up in your dorm.
âWould you just relax?â Pansy murmurs, sliding her sunglasses down to eye you properly. She gives your t-shirt a light tug, then pinches at the hem of your shorts. âTake these offâyou look like youâre melting.â
Something sharp about how it must be your anger, is on the tip of your tongue. But Pansy adjusts her sunglasses and rolls onto her stomach, clearly signaling the conversation is over.
You sigh, glancing over at the boys seated a little ways from Mattheo and Veronica. Itâs obvious from their expressions that theyâre talking about them. A part of you bristles instinctively, ready to defend Mattheoâbut you shove it down before it can surface.
Theoâs eyes are locked on Mattheo, anger simmering just beneath the surface as he watches him drape himself over Veronicaâright in front of you. Itâs all Theoâs been able to think about these past few weeks: keeping you distracted, keeping your eyes on him. Because if youâre looking at him, maybe you wonât notice just how completely enamored Mattheo is with a girl that isnât you.
He doesnât get itâhow Mattheo could have you as an option and yet choose someone else. It drives him mad, keeps him up at night. Because if he were in Mattheoâs position, there wouldnât be a choice to make. It would be you. Always.
Heâs so focused on his thoughts that he barely registers Enzo nudging him.
âHuh?â He mutters, distracted, but his words catch in his throat the moment he follows Enzoâs subtle nod toward you. Wrapped in a cherry-red bikini, shoving your denim shorts down your thighs, completely unaware of the way the sight knocks the breath out of him.
His irritation simmers into something else entirelyâsomething heavier, something that sparks low in his stomach.
A low whistle sounds beside him, and Theoâs head snaps toward Draco, whoâs shamelessly smirking in your direction. âSalazar, I love the view on days like this,â he drawls.
Irritation flares hot in his chest, and without thinking, Theo snaps, âShut the fuck up,â before pushing to his feet and heading straight for you.
He doesnât have much of a plan when he gets to youâjust knows heâd rather not sit there while the guys keep eyeing you like that.
âFiore.â He greets, and you blink up at him through your sunglasses, taking a second to admire him. Exposed skin and defined biceps completely short-circuit your brain, and it takes a moment to catch up. Pansy shoots you a look at how long it takes you to answer him.
âTheo,â you hum, and his lips twitch into a smile. Pansyâs eyes flick between the two of you before she pushes herself up, calling over her shoulder that sheâs going to say hi to Blaise. You watch as she saunters over, drops to her knees beside him, and leans down to press a kiss to his lips. Blaise, lying back without a care in the world, welcomes it, while Draco and Enzo groan dramatically, muttering that the two of them need a room.
You giggle quietly to yourself, amused by your friends, as Theo settles onto the towel Pansy abandoned. For a moment, the two of you sit in silence, gazes cast toward the Black Lake, letting the sun warm your skin while birdsong fills the space between you. With Theo beside you, the tension in your chest begins to ease. Youâre just about to sink back into the towel when another one of Veronicaâs shrill calls of Mattheoâs name cuts through the peace, grating in your ears.
You let out a soft sigh, drawing Theoâs attention. He glances over at you, then follows your gaze to where Mattheo sits behind Veronica, still murmuring something in her ear as she leans back against him.
âDo you want to swim?â Theo asks, then immediately winces at how blunt it sounds. He wishes his brain didnât short-circuit every time you were nearâthat he could string together a sentence without sounding like heâs forgotten how to speak. Around you, he feels like a third year all over again. Thereâs a flash of relief when your eyes finally shift to him.
You glance toward the lake, hesitation written all over your face. âIt looks freezing,â you say, trying to keep your tone casual. Youâre not about to admit you suck at swimmingâitâs easier to pretend that itâs just too cold.
He huffs a quiet laugh. âIt wonât be that bad.â
Still unsure, you give him a shrug, and Theo pushes himself up, holding out a hand for you to take.Â
âThat waterâs gonna be freezing!â Blaise calls after you, and you shoot Theo a look that clearly says told you so.
Threading your fingers through Theoâs feels almost jarringâjolting in a way that catches you off guard. Itâs a little unnerving, knowing all your friends are watching as you walk hand in hand, though itâs not like they havenât already noticed how inseparable you and Theo have become. Still, thereâs a flicker of satisfaction when, out of the corner of your eye, you catch Mattheo turning to watch the two of you walk toward the water. For once, his eyes arenât on Veronicaâtheyâre on you.
You stop a few feet from the edge, eyeing the water warily before taking a slow step back, a sweet smile tugging at your lips as you glance up at him.
âYou know what, Iâll gladly watch you swim by yourself.â
Theo casts a look of disbelief your way, âYou walked all the way down here with me just to turn me down?â
You shrug, an amused smile tugging at your lips. âI think youâll survive on your own.â
âNo, I really donât think I will.â His voice is playful, but thereâs a glint in his eye as he steps into the water, holding out a hand to you.
You wrinkle your nose and shake your head. âGet Enzo to come out there with you.â You turn, ready to call for Enzo, but you donât get the chance.
Theo wraps an arm around your waist, the other slipping behind your knees as he effortlessly lifts you off the ground.
You let out a startled shriek, arms instinctively flying around his shoulders. âTheo!â you gasp, breathless with surprise and laughter.
If your friends hadnât been paying attention before, they definitely were now. A few whistles and teasing cheers ring out from the group, but you canât tell who theyâre from. Youâre too focused on Theo, clinging to him with a mix of panic and laughter.
âIf you drop meâŠâ You warn, tightening your grip around his shoulders as he wades deeper into the water.
âIâm not going to drop you.â He says with a low chuckleâand just as the words leave his mouth, the cool water brushes your back, pulling a startled squeak from your lips.
âIâm serious! I barely know how to swim. No one ever taught me, and I cried so much every time my parents dropped me off at swim lessons that they just gave up.â You confess quietly, eyes flicking nervously to the water lapping around Theoâs knees before finally meeting his gaze.
To your surprise, he doesnât tease. Instead, he chuckles softly, shaking his head as he adjusts his grip, gently shifting you until you can wrap your legs around his waist. Your arms loop securely around his neck, and he gives you that soft, familiar smile. The one he saves only for you. It was quickly becoming one of your favorite things.
âIâll just keep holding you then. Howâs that sound?â You nod, eyes drifting over his sun-kissed skin and tousled waves. He looked beautiful like this, devastatingly so.
âAs long as you donât drop me, Iâm okay with that.â You murmur softly, and Theoâs smile shiftsâgentler now, quieter. His eyes flick down to your lips, so quickly you almost convince yourself you imagined it.Â
Because thereâs no way Theo Nott would be thinking about kissing you.Â
That just wasnât possible.
You watch him closely, heart ticking faster as his eyes slowly trace your face. Goosebumps rise along your skin when his hand glides down your side, over your hip, then settles firmly on your thigh.
âTheo.â
âHm?â
âWhat are you doing?â
He glances at you, eyes glinting with something unreadable.
âAdjusting my grip,â he says casually. âWouldnât want to drop you.â
Itâs a bullshit excuse. He didnât need to adjust his gripâhe was holding you just fine. And maybe it was wrong, but he wanted a reason to let his hand skim over your skin, to feel what it would be like to touch you the way he would if you were his.
You donât seem to care though.
You hum in understanding, and without thinking, your fingers drift up to toy with the soft strands of hair at the nape of his neck. Theo watches you closely, eyes tracing every detail of your faceâcommitting it to memory, unsure when heâll get to have you this close again.
âI was wonderingââ
âMattheo!â The shout cuts through the air, and Theo flinches at the sound of Veronicaâs voice, wincing as a splash of cold water hits his back. Instinctively, he pulls you closer, turning his body to shield you from the spray.
âFuck, Mattheo,â you grumble, shooting an irritated look his way. âThatâs freezing.â Itâs not that cold, but youâre annoyed. Heâs your best friend, he knows all about your failed attempts at learning to swim and how much you really, really hate having water splashed on you.
âSorry,â he says with a shrug, though he doesnât look the least bit apologetic. His eyes flick briefly to Theo, then drop, as if he can see right through the murky water to where Theoâs hand is gripping your thigh.
âYouâve got Theo to keep you warm,â he says, nodding toward him. But his eyes stay locked on yours. Thereâs a sharp edge to his voice, one Theo doesnât miss. Itâs subtle, but itâs there, like the sight of you in Theoâs arms is bothering him more than he wants to admit.
Theo feels the subtle shift in your bodyâthe way you tense slightly in his arms.
Veronica calls his name, and after a brief hesitation, Mattheo finally tears his gaze away from you and swims toward her. But your mood has already soured, and all you want now is to retreat to your towel and dry off.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
You barely slept, spending most of the night replaying every possible scenario of how returning Mattheoâs jersey might go. Your mind wouldnât settle, not after watching him and Veronica at the lake, circling each other in the water, sharing quiet conversations. Every so often, if you were lucky, you caught a glimpse of Mattheo pressing his lips to hers.
You were grateful for your sunglasses, hiding the tears gathering at the corners of your eyes. You werenât sure if it was jealousy or frustrationâor a painful mix of both.
Whatever it was, it sucked.
By the time you got back to your dorm after a day full of classes, you were wound so tight you feared you might snap.
You dreaded going to the game. The thought of returning the jersey was uncomfortable, and the idea of seeing Mattheo with Veronica made it even harder to face.
What you hoped for most was a moment alone with him, to talk without Veronica hovering nearby. But after yesterday, you knew the odds of that were slim. Watching her draped all over Mattheo at the lake had been enough proof. If today was anything like that, you wouldnât get a second alone with him.
You considered skipping the match entirely. However, you and Pansy had made plans to sit together, and youâd also promised Mattheo youâd return his jersey. As much as you wanted to avoid the situation, you knew you had to go.
You were so irritated as you snatched Mattheoâs jersey off the back of your chair that you hadnât even noticed the red peonies and green jersey sitting on your bed at first. It wasnât until you tossed your bag aside and went to fix your hair that the unexpected sight caught your eye.
Your eyes landed on the familiar green jersey, the back facing up so you could clearly see âNottâ stitched in bold, unmistakable letters. A smile tugged at your lips, your earlier frustration fading as you reached for the flowers, their soft petals brushing against your fingers. Carefully, you lifted them, already picturing them in a vase on your desk.Â
Thereâs a card tucked between the blooms, and you smile at Theoâs handwriting:Â Fioreâwear this for me tonight?
Suddenly, the idea of going to the match didnât seem so miserable anymore.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
âFinally!â Veronica calls out the moment she spots you, her voice laced with impatience. âI was starting to think you werenât going to show up in time.â She stands outside the boysâ locker room, arms crossed like sheâs been waiting for ages.
You resist the urge to roll your eyes, âI told Mattheo I would be here.â
âI know,â She says, her tone short, before sticking out her hand expectantly. âI can take that.â
You hesitate, wanting to wait and give it to Mattheo yourself, but you know sheâll be the one wearing the jersey tonight. It feels pointless to hold onto it any longer. With a reluctant sigh, you hand it over, and Veronicaâs lips curl into a triumphant smile as she takes it from you.
âThanks.â She chirps, instantly brighter now that sheâs got what she wanted. You watch as she slips the jersey on, and a slight bitterness creeps into your chest at the sight of it on her. She finishes adjusting the jersey and looks up, sending you a smug smirk that makes your stomach twist.
Itâs incredibly frustrating to watch her once-sweet attitude crack and crumble right in front of youâwhile Mattheo remains completely oblivious. You donât understand it. Besides being his friend, which lately hasnât meant much, thereâs no reason for her to dislike you. Yet she does, and you canât figure out why.
Sure, you were close with Mattheo, but if the jersey was any indication, she had no real reason to worry.Â
You were nothing but a friend to Mattheo, even though you desperately wished that wasnât the case.
She eyes the jersey youâre wearing, quirking an eyebrow as if sheâs about to say something snide. You brace yourself, waiting for the comment, but then her face lights up as her attention shifts to somethingâor someoneâbehind you.
You turn just as she brushes past you, wrapping her arms around Mattheoâs neck and pulling him down for a kiss. The sight makes your stomach roll, and you quickly avert your gaze, unable to bear watching them. Her giggles fill the air, loud and lovesick, a blatant declaration that heâs hers now.
âWhose jersey are you wearing?â Your eyes snap over to Mattheo, who has one arm around Veronicaâs waist as he looks at you curiously. Her arms are tightly wrapped around his neck, and she looks frustrated that his attention is on you.Â
âMine.â You glance over and see Theo approaching, a flicker of relief washing over you. A genuine smile spreads across your face, and before you think it through, you wrap your arms around his shoulders, pulling him into a hug. He looks momentarily surprised but quickly gathers himself, encircling your waist and holding you firmly.
You lean back slightly to meet his gaze, your voice softening. âThank you for the flowers. Again.â
A warm, gentle smile blooms on his lips, the kind he reserves just for you. âAnytime, fiore.â
A moment lingers between you, where your eyes lock and soft smiles play on your lips. But the spell shatters at Veronicaâs excited squeal of Mattheoâs name. You clear your throat, gently pulling away and offering Theo a fleeting smile, even though you sense his disappointment at the loss of your warmth.
Your gaze drifts toward Mattheo, who leans in to press a kiss against Veronicaâs lips, a pang of longing twisting in your chest. You exhale slowly, then look back at Theo. âAre you nervous?â
âNot really,â he replies with a casual shrug, though you catch a flicker of something beneath his calm exterior. âBut if I do get nervous, Iâll just search for the pretty girl wearing my name.â
Your lips part in surprise at Theoâs bold flirting, a playful spark igniting in your chest. You try to mask your smile, but itâs no useâTheo sees right through you, a knowing grin spreading across his face as he revels in your reaction.
âGood luck. Iâll wait for you after.â You lean in, nearly whispering as you press a kiss against Theoâs cheek, but in your nervousness, your lips brush against the corner of his mouth instead. The contact sends a spark of warmth through you, but before he can react, you pull away, leaving him to watch you walk off, the letters of his last name boldly displayed on your back.
He stands there for a second, staring after you, but as he turns to leave, he catches sight of Mattheo, who is watching you with an intensity that makes his heart sink.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
Youâre exhausted. Keeping track of both Mattheo and Theo is proving to be more tiring than you anticipated. Youâre used to focusing solely on Mattheo during the game, but tonight, your attention keeps shifting to Theo.
âAre you even listening to her?â Pansy scoffs, jabbing you in the ribs.
The unexpected nudge jolts you from your thoughts, and you turn to her, puzzled. âWhat?â
âVeronica. Are you paying attention?â Pansy glances over, raising an eyebrow.
You shake your head, âNo. I didnât even realize she was sitting nearby.â
âListen to her. Sheâs been bragging about Mattheo.â That catches your attention. You follow Pansyâs finger as she points, and your gaze lands on Veronica a few rows ahead. As you focus, her voice cuts through the noise of the crowd, loud and unmistakable, carrying clearly despite the distance.
âDo you even know how long I waited to get him?â Veronicaâs voice rises above the noise, smug and self-satisfied. You glance over just in time to see her gather her hair into a high ponytail, making sure the name on her back is fully visible. âHonestly, the effort was exhausting,â she adds with a dramatic sigh, as if sheâs endured a great hardship.
The girls around her practically explode with excitement, bombarding her with questionsâhow did she do it? How long did it take? Whatâs he like? Their voices blend into a high-pitched buzz, and you roll your eyes, feeling the irritation build as you turn your attention back to the match, hoping to tune them out.
Pansy nudges you again, her voice low and insistent. âKeep listening.â
âNo.â You grit out.
Pansy sighs, âWhy not?â
You exhale sharply. âBecause I really donât want to hear her go on and on about him anymore.â The bitterness in your voice is hard to hide, but you donât care. Youâre too tired of hearing his name on her lips.
âYouâve barely listened!â
âIt was enough for me.â
âThereâs something off about the way she talks about him,â Pansy pushes, leaning in to try and catch your eye, but you continue looking forward and watching Theo. âI donât like it.â
âI mean, I donât either. But Iâm not going to keep listening in.â
âWhy?â Pansy cries out incredulously, gaining the attention of some people around you.
âBecause Iâm supposed to be getting over him, and I donât think listening in as his girlfriend talks about him will do that.â
âBut what if somethingâs off? What if sheâs blackmailing him or something?â Pansy asks, before she gasps and turns to face you fully. âWhat if heâs dating her to make you jealous?â
âDo you really think Mattheo Riddle would allow someone to blackmail him? And secondly, I donât think thatâs the case.â
âYou never know. I always thought he had feelings for you.â
âPansy. This is what Iâm talking about,â You snap, sending a warning look to your best friend. âMattheo can take care of himself, you and I both know that. Thereâs no way Iâll ever get over him if I start making up theories about why heâs with his girlfriend. VeronicaâsâŠ. something else, we know that, but that doesnât mean sheâs not with him for a genuine reason.â
Pansy exhales in frustration, adjusting in her seat as she finally turns her attention to the match. âAlright, I get it. Iâll just share my theories with Blaise from now on.â
A smirk tugs at your lips as you imagine Blaise enduring the same conversation, likely rolling his eyes in exasperation, âFine by me.â
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
Thanks to Theoâs swift catch of the Snitch, Slytherin secured the win, and the stands erupted in cheers. Youâd screamed so loudly in celebration that youâre certain he heard you, even from across the pitch. The thrill of the moment filled you with energy, and you felt a surge of pride as he glanced your way after the catch.
You were eager to congratulate him, but held back, letting the others swarm him first. Instead, you were leaned against the wall outside the locker room, waiting for a moment alone with him. As you stood there, it wasnât long before your mind wandered. You found yourself watching him from afarâhis chest still heaving from the intensity of the match, hair tousled and damp with sweat. There was something about the way he looked after a game that had your thoughts trailing off in a completely different direction.
It brought you back to yesterdayâthe way he looked, water glistening on his skin, fingers running through his damp waves, and eyes crinkling as he smiled at you. The memory sent a rush of heat straight through you.
Had Theo Nott always been this gorgeous?
When he turns and catches your eye, you fully expect him to give the usual âwait a minuteâ gesture, like Mattheo always does. But instead, to your surprise, Theo pushes straight through the crowd. In an instant, heâs in front of you, pulling you up into his arms. You let out a shriek of his name through laughter, completely caught off guard by the sudden hug, his embrace warm and tight as if heâd been waiting for this moment all along.
âYou did so good!â You cry out as he sets you down. When he grins at you, itâs almost enough to make you swoon; the sight of post-match Theo is something you hadnât realized youâd been missing. The blend of adrenaline and joy radiating from him leaves you momentarily breathless.
âItâs because you wore my jersey,â he shrugs, a teasing glint in his eyes. âI didnât get to say it earlier, but you look really good in it.â
You nearly melt, âDoes that mean I get to wear it at the next game?â
âPlease do, love,â he says, his tone suddenly softer, the endearment dripping with warmth like honey. Thereâs a sincerity in his gaze that sends a flutter through your chest. âYou make it look far better than I ever could.â
You donât get the chance to respond as Enzo suddenly appears by his side, rambling on about something animatedly. With a quick tug, Enzo pulls Theo away, but not before he glances back, shouting over his shoulder about how heâll see you later.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
âYâgood?â Theo looks up from the fire, his gaze shifting to Blaise, whoâs now standing beside the couch. The flames had been the only company heâd had for hours. It was lateâhe couldnât say exactly how lateâjust that the common room had emptied long ago, and heâd been sitting there long after everyone else had gone to bed after celebrating their win.
âYeah,â Theo sighs, his eyes drifting back to the flickering flames. âIâm good.â His words are hollow, almost as if heâs trying to convince himself. Blaise watches him for a moment, studying the tension in his posture, before quietly sitting down in the empty space beside him. Neither of them speaks, both of them watching as the flames dance.
Blaise leans back, glancing at Theo before breaking the silence. âYou donât look it,â he says, his voice calm but direct.
âJust thinking.â Theo just shrugs, his shoulders barely lifting, the gesture heavy with indifference. Blaise watches him for a moment, waiting, giving him the space to say something moreâbut the silence stretches.
âAbout her?âÂ
Theoâs reaction is answer enough. He exhales sharply, running a hand through his hair with a tired frustration. For a brief moment, he pauses, elbows resting on his knees, his head cradled in his hands.
He drops his hands slowly, lifting his head to glance over at Blaise, his eyes tired, âWhen am I not?â
Blaise smiles slightly at his words. Heâs known for years that Theo liked youâit was impossible to miss. From the moment Mattheo introduced you, Blaise vividly remembers the way Theo looked at you, as if his breath had been knocked from his lungs.
He was completely undone by one glimpse of you.
And if that hadnât been enough of a giveaway, the little things Theo did for you over the years certainly wereâgrabbing your favorite sweets from Hogsmeade when you couldnât make the trip, offering help before you even had to ask, his gaze always seeking you out no matter how crowded the room. It was undeniable, even if Theo never spoke it aloud.
âListen, mate,â Blaise begins, casting a quick glance at Theo, gauging his expression before continuing. âDo you think this is a good idea?âÂ
âWhat?â
âHelping her get over Mattheo while youâre in love with her yourself.â Blaiseâs words hang in the air, and Theoâs jaw tightens instinctively, a storm of emotions flickering across his face.
He wants to deny that heâs in love with you, but deep down, he knows itâs pointless. The truth is unquestionable; heâs been drawn to you for years, but these last few months have sent him falling even deeper.
How was he ever supposed to get over you when every moment only pulled him deeper? The way your fingers slipped so easily into his, like they belonged there, the soft curve of your lips as his thumb traced gentle circles over your skin. How sleeping over in your dorm had somehow become routineâhe was sure Pansy was staying with Blaise on purpose to give him space with you.Â
Itâs why he hasnât left this couch in hours, struggling with the weight of his feelings. The realization hits him hard: heâs completely fallen for you, and heâs trapped. Because in your eyes, heâs just a friend, and that thought feels like a punch to the gut.
âShe asked me to, and I canât say no to her,â Theo replies, his voice laced with a mix of frustration and resignation. âIâve never been able to.â
âYouâre going to get yourself hurt if youâre not careful.â Blaise warns, his tone serious.Â
âWeâve long passed that point.â Theo sighs.
.·ă.·ăâ·.·â«Â·ă·ă.
The knock at your door isnât much of a surpriseâyou figured that as soon as Pansy left to meet Blaise, Theo would come knocking. It had become part of your routine over the past month. In fact, he had become the person you saw the most.
Walk to the Great Hall? Sit by Theo. Evenings in the common room? Always with your friends, sat beside Theo. As soon as Pansy disappeared to the boysâ dorm, that was Theoâs cue to show up at your door.
He was so deeply ingrained into your life that it was almost hard to remember what things were like before him.
âI think this is a recordââ You begin with a grin, flinging open the doorâonly for your smile to falter.
Itâs not Theo.
Mattheo stands there instead, a split lip and a bruise blooming across his cheekbone in deep shades of purple and red. It looks painful, and you wince at the sight of him.
A disbelieving scoff escapes him. âYou were waiting for him?â
One hand braces against the doorframe as he glances over his shoulder, like heâs expecting Theo to come around the corner. âCan you two do nothing without each other?â
âDo you need something, Mattheo?â
He turns back to you, the bitterness in his expression fading as he lifts his fingers to wipe at the blood on his lip. It smears more than it cleans, and you scrunch your nose slightly in distaste. A month ago, you wouldâve pulled him into your dorm without hesitationâbut now, youâre angry with him.
Itâs on the tip of your tongue to tell him to fuck off, that itâs no longer his business who youâre waiting for. Not when youâve barely seen him, and every attempt to talk has been ignored. Ever since that day at the lake, heâs been even more distant than before. And if he so much as looks like he might breathe in your direction, Veronica is there, tugging him away. Itâs mind-boggling. Up until now, you hadnât let yourself believe it, but maybe this really is how your school year endsâwith you and Mattheo no longer friends.
âI got into a fightââ You cross your arms over your chest, giving him a deadpan look.Â
ââand I just couldnât bring myself to go to the infirmary. Not when this has always been your job.â
Thereâs a part of you that bristles at him calling it your job to take care of him, but you know heâs right. After every fight, heâd show up at your door, and youâd patch him up as best you could. But things are different now, and it doesnât feel right to take care of him when heâs all but disappeared from your life.
âItâs not my job anymore. Not when you have a girlfriend.â You move to shut the door, but Mattheo shoots his hand out, stopping it before it can close.
âLove, please.â Your stomach lurches at the way the nickname rolls off his tongueâdirected at you this time. âI need your help.â
You hesitate, staring at him for a long moment, weighing just how stupid of an idea this might be. But Mattheoâs pull on youâhis presence, his voice, the familiarityâis still too strong. With a sigh, you step aside and swing the door open before gesturing to your bed.
Thereâs not a whole lot you can do besides blot his lip with a clean cloth and apply some cream to the bruise on his cheek, but itâs always seemed to work for him. By the time youâve dampened the cloth with warm water and gathered what you need, Mattheo is already settled on your bed, staring at the wall of polaroids.
Itâs different now. And something bitter churns in Mattheoâs stomach as he takes in the changes to your photo wall. Some of the pictures of the two of you have been replaced, now filled with snapshots of you and Theo. One shows you curled into Theoâs side, grinning widely at the camera as you squish his cheeks together with your hand. Another captures you sandwiched between Theo and Enzo, all three of you wearing sunglasses and flipping off the camera.
But itâs the photo of you and Theo at the lake that makes his chest tighten. Your legs are wrapped around Theo as he holds you up in the water, heâs smiling at the camera, and youâre pressing a kiss against his cheek. Youâre wearing that red bikiniâthe one that had knocked the air from his lungs the moment he saw you in it. He remembers how stunned he was, how heâd nearly forgotten Veronica was beside him until she slapped his arm and muttered something sharp.
âShe needs a bigger size,â sheâd said. âItâs too tight on her hips. I should give her one of my old ones.â
He hadnât said a word, but the way his eyes stayed locked on you had said enough. He didnât agreeâhe thought you were perfect.Â
âWhatâd you get in a fight over?â Mattheoâs eye shift over to you, settling down onto the bed next to him and showing him the cloth, a warning you were going to touch him before bringing the damp, white cotton to his lip. Mattheo sucks in a breath and watches as you focus on cleaning the cut.
âNothing important.â He mumbles, careful not to move too much for you.
âClearly, it felt important to you.â You hold up the blotchy, red-stained cloth as proof.
He sighs, âIt wasnât.â
You glance up at him, but heâs staring off to the side, jaw tight, and you decide to let it go. You know himâif he got worked up enough to start a fight, then it meant something to him.
The room falls quiet as you work, the silence stretching between you. Still, your mind spins, trying to piece together what couldâve pushed Mattheo far enough to throw punches.
âWhy didnât you go to her?â You ask softly.
Mattheoâs face stays blank, and for a moment, you wonder if he even heard you.
âItâs justââ he starts, then pauses. His gaze finally lifts to meet yours, and something shifts in the air. The way heâs looking at you nowâitâs different. Intense. It sends your pulse into a quiet frenzy. âIt wouldnât be the same.â
âIt shouldnât be the same,â You murmur, correcting him. âWeâre just friends, but itâs different with you and her.â
âI know, I know.â He mumbles, drawing in a deep breath.
You set the cloth aside, watching him carefully as you reach for the cream. Itâll only take a couple dabs on his cheek andheâll be good to goâbut still, you move slowly. Selfishly, you want to stretch the moment. He hasnât been this close in weeks. You havenât really heard his voice in what feels like forever.
Not when heâs talking to the boys. Not in passing in the corridors. That doesnât count. Not like this.
âDo you like her for me?â He asks, and you inwardly sigh.Â
âI havenât given it much thought.â You reply, dabbing the cream gently onto the bruise as he watches you.
You keep your focus fixed on the taskâtoo careful, too preciseâbecause meeting his eyes feels too intimate. Too dangerous.
âThe boys always said it would be you.â He says quietly.
Your hand stills for a moment, eyes flicking up to meet his, uncertain.
âAbout what?â Youâre stalling, hoping to have more time to process.
âWho Iâd end up with.â
âOh,â you murmur, voice barely above a whisper.
How are you supposed to respond to that? Tell him youâd hoped for the same? That youâd heard the boys say it, more times than you could countâand every time, you let yourself believe it a little more.
Hoped that maybe, if they said it enough, heâd start to believe it too.
âDid they ever tell you that? That they thought youâd end up with me?â
Your voice falters, your hand falling to your lap as you stare at him. Youâre too closeâfar too close. You need him out. Away from you. He has a girlfriend.
But then he says your name, soft and low, and you freeze.
Your mind is screaming at you to move, to stand up, to tell him itâs time to go.

Deltarune predictions since Deltarune Tomorrow is tomorrow
These won't just about chapters 3+4, but there'll be a lot of that
Ralsei alluding to the player more and more directly (maybe even talking directly to us at some point)
Fem secret boss in Chapters 3 or 4
Spamton allusions in Chapter 3
Tenna having a TV-show host intro for Kris since they opened the Dark Fountain and live in the place the fountain is based on and Ralsei freaking out because KRIS WHAT THE HELL
Or them not being recognized by maybe called out on it by Ralsei
More Noelle in Chapter 4 (and continuation of Weird Route)
Church-themed Chapter 4 dark world (I need it and Kris' family is connected to the church so that could explain the screenshot of her saying their family is weird)
Asriel showing up for either the festival or in Chapter 7
Incredibly specific, but a scene where Kris rips out their soul in front of their friends and Susie freaks out (maybe payoff for the buildup where Susie learns that her only friend has been controlled for as long as they've known each other and feeling like their friendship isn't real)
Adding onto that, more examples of Kris caring about Susie outside of out control (way they talk, things like the Susie tea, etc.)
Another specific one, but someone (maybe Ralsei) asking what our name is and having the opportunity to choose between 'Kris' or the name we put in for ourselves in the Goner Maker
Vessel secret boss
Weird Route boss fight against Ralsei
Ralsei needing to choose between the prophesy and his friends
There being only one ending, but small details in it will be different (what do small details/choices matter when it all ends the same)
Maybe us not getting to see much of the ending, leaving the world to Kris and their friends
The eggs we collect are going to be useless/like the secret artifact in Undertale
More hospital bead toy symbolism
I'm so excited I can't do this ONE MORE SLEEP UNTIL DELTARUNE TOMORROW

Homestuck But Anime, What works and how it can!
So, that "Homestuck But Anime" concept I have in my head, I think it would be full proof by art and animation direction alone.
Maybe because the vision in my head is very clear on character design/models and how it would all look in scenes and shots, that I could probably do like a concept trailer or something whenever I have the time for it.
But the idea is that the designs would have to fit the "Anime" mold, if not be adjacent to it as possible to give it the whole meme of "Homestuck But Anime". That would either have to include using H0NE-san's style as a sub, either from her art in [S] Collide or the art from recently the Requiem Café.
(sadly i couldn't find a good group example since the requiem assets got removed)
But it would either be one or the other or some medium of the both in terms of character design, details, and whatnot.
As an artistical medium that Homestuck is, I still think it's possible to transform it into other mediums, given that in a format such as an Anime, in recent years, anime has taken a stance and has transformed itself into different mediums and formats where it's an expression of art. All depending on the animation director and other things that go into the process and such.
Now in terms, of what I'd think it'll look like in motion or as a final product. I would go in the direction of implementing a LOT of Kagenashi, especially in the early parts of Homestuck before they enter the medium.
Now, if you're not well versed in a lot of Japanese Animation Techniques used in anime, you might be confused on that word! Let me explain!
Kagenashi (ćœ±ăȘă)
is a technique used as typically a directional form. When the characters have little to no shadow, as the atmosphere or lighting would fit the scenario's the character's are in. This puts more details into the character's themselves allowed for more of an emotional high and such.
youtube
In recent pop culture history, the most recent examples of this would be Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 16, and famously used a lot in Naruto (Specifically a lot in Naruto Shippuden).
Another kind of technique or at least the style that would also work and help for this "Adaptation" would be going for things like this and such for scenes that need to deliver that HIGH and deliver that tension and emotional highs in the series.
youtube
Techniques and styles like these used for the more colorful parts of Homestuck's world (Post-Entry) would be defined by it's use of colors, lighting, and atmosphere to build the same kind of uniqueness and awe that came with seeing those things for the first time.
I guess some other things to talk about would be what kinds of sounds would come to the adaptation and voices for the characters. But, voices seem to be- varied and it would mainly have to be a very striking case of picking who would be who, but in terms of the soundtrack would have to be somewhat original with somethings being remixes, carried with leitmotifs, or original songs that capture the character with it.
There are some picks for the general direction I'd choose in terms of musicians and animation studios for Production that would kinda be like "The Dream."
A lot of thought went into these choices based on my current knowledge and just which would be able to bring the best out of an adaptation with this kind of story/style. At this point, I don't have any much extra to say, but if there are any questions about my choices and other stuff, uhh you can ask me in the replies or smth lol byee

Triple Frontier
Rewatch and Review
I did a deep dive in the making of this movie and it adds to the experience.
They worked will a real team of navy seals to really make the team feel more authentic outside of their preexisting relationships with one another. The guns they used were real and everything. They truly learned not only physical, but also the mental aspects of being a team of people in the military who operates at such a high level.
They all had a separate member of the team to go one on one with as well. Itâs truly fascinating.
The director is JC Chandor, and heâs also directed and written A Most Violent Year.
Iâm finding that his movies are mainly character driven. Itâs more about complex characters in different situations or how they navigate a specific environment. There is a âstory/plotâ. The premise of the story can be interesting, but the complex nature of the characters is what really sells the movie.
This specific movie is about the special forces and how they navigate life once they âretireâ. Which is the most obvious part, but itâs also about a group of guys who did it together and have a reunion.
I think what makes this movie special is how they all interact and how different and similar they are. It can be argued that Santiago starts the movie hungry for more. He just wants more. Out of his life, out of his job. He wants something to show for all the things heâs lost and missed out on while âfighting for his countryâ. He not only wants it for himself, but also for the people he served with.
Theyâve all moved on with their lives. In whatever way that means. Santi wants so much more for them. Doing whatever he can to convince them to join him, isnât selfishness, but a love to him. A vow to his loyalty and how much he cares about them.
They donât see it that way, but heâs fine with that. Because he sees the end result.
He pushed and he pushed hard. It might not have been completely right. But itâs not completely wrong either.
You could also argue that Tom is the one that made the wrong move in every turn. One look at the money changed him completely. He went from ambivalent at best to, beyond all in. He was gone. Itâs in the way he stopes following their plan. How he says they got time when the didnât. How he put them in a situation to kill people they didnât anticipate killing.
You see this change between both Tom and Santiago. They both start the film at completely different ends of a spectrum and swap places by the end.
As they keep going, Santiago , and the rest of them for that matter, care less and less about the money with them. They give up more and more as things get complicated. However, Tom argues more and more. Every time he opens his mouth, itâs about how much money they are leaving behind. Itâs in that tension of his greed and the goal of getting home that gets Tom killed.
By that point, Toms loss is when thereâs a change in everyone. Itâs where now they have to get at least some of this money for Toms family. However, even that gets complicated. Loreaâs men have caught up with them, and are blocking their escape.
Thereâs a beautiful moment when Will calms Santi down when they have to figure out how to confront the rest of Lorreaâs men and how they are all teenagers. Santiago says they have to kill them all because he canât grasp doing this all for nothing. He doesnât want to go home, tell Tomâs family heâs dead, and have nothing to show for it.
He says âI thought we could do this.â And in that specific moment you can see how upset he is that every thing is falling apart. How he accepts that very fact in this moment that they failed and need to focus on getting Tom home. Heâs made a complete assessment change on everything. The money and what he thought he wanted.
Itâs an amazing arc for both of them. (Not Tom dying. But the processes of greed to his ultimate downfall, and Santiâs deliverance of sorts to accepting the simpler things of life. That he canât beat the system even if he tries really hard. He just has to take the short end of the stick that has inevitably been offered to him, and find a way to be content with it.
I will never be able to shut up about this movie! Thank you for reading if you made it this far!

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN | 1.09
You couldn't call me?
#Daredevil Born Again#Karedevil#Karen Page#Matt Murdock#ddba spoilers#Daredeviledit#Daredevil Spoilers#Not Revolution#GIF set#Mine#Shippers gonna ship#I find it really hard to express why I like this so much and yet STILL want Kastle#It's something about how Matt relaxes around her#He's so guarded 99% of the time. And he pushed her away HARD many MANY times over the years for whatever BS reason he could think of#and they've finally gotten to a place (and it's a year later than would have been better for everyone) where this is permanent.#This is safe. This is home. They're stuck with each other.#And I love the contrast between Matt anxiously trying to convince Kristen and his gf that there's a threat and he has to go DO STUFF and#how different the reaction is when he says the same things (albeit with more detail) to Frank and Karen. It's night and day.#He's only a real person with people who know his secret identity.#There's something delicious about a phone call being where Matt's stuck. As if he doesn't have a history of dodging her calls. And I get#that he would have welcomed calls now - or in the last year - but there are so many scenes were poor karen is just getting shutdown by Matt#and Foggy. Calls unanswered or ended quickly. Because they have other stuff going on and lying to her is hard so it's easier not to pick up#And then you have Frank who is like... a fugitive? A hermit basically. Someone off the grid. Living in a basement. Who has an active cell#plan and has made sure Karen has his number in case she needs it. And he clearly answers when she rings. And there's no one else ringing.#So it's basically a phone - maybe specifically so Karen can reach out.#AND I LOVE THE FRAMING OF THIS SHOT. I love how close Matt and Karen are sitting. I love that Frank is pretending to ignore them.#Coz there's no way he's okay with how close they are. But he's not going to make it weird because he's a good friend to Karen.#Maybe I should blame Karen for me shipping every ship that involves Karen.

Next time we should just skip over ep 3 and do a chapters 84-87 reread
#Mmmmmmhhhh.#Well. If anything you can always tell when there's a ss/kk episode by the fact that it takes me two hours to watch it lol#What can I say. I'm a compulsive screencap taker#Mmmmmmhhh... I was right it wasn't as bad as I remembered it. Still moderately bad but not all bad.#It's just. I can feel the animators did their best.#I suppose it's just a difficult episode to animate within a short time frame since it's a specifically action packed one.#And the lack of time really shows. Like there *are* some detailed animated passages here and there. But then there's also these long static#shots that stretch on forever that are just... Idk. A little saddening to see I guess? Like the animators really ran out of time for them#There's also a big component of... I just can't vibe with the newfound artstyle. Like it looks soooo much worse than s1 in my opinion#Which you knowâ is only subjective! But eh... The distance between s2ep11 and this feels abyssal.#Everyone looks so ugly oftentimes. Like even in curated shotsâ they're just very rough and ungraceful.#Which like?? How could you look at Harukawa's art and come up with //that//??????? But it's whatever#And the pacing is so so off đđđ God please to death with 11 episodes long seasons give us filler episodes back. Please!!!!#The pacing is atrocious and it has not even to do with the animation. Even greatly animated episodes suffer from it.#Mmmmhh... I don't particularly like Fukuchi's vacting... He doesn't sound tired enough. Nor as pitiful as much as he should tbh#Among the three I feel like only Uemura really nails the job. I'm so sorry Onoken but I feel like even Akutagawa needs to sound vulnerableâ#once in a whileâ you know? Althoughâ if he's only going with how Bones depicts himâ then I get why he would act him out like that đđđ#There were so many reused shots too... The ones from the end of s2ep11... The s3ep12 kokko zessou one... Ss/kk running in the corridors...#Overall. Not as bad as I remembered it. But at the same time I get why I was so distraught because they really wasted the best fourâ#chapters of the manga just like that.#The âis his life that precious to youâ moment was terrible đđđ Head in hands fr#Oh well. I babble a lot but it was okay. Like at least it wasn't season 3 kind of bad. And definitely wasn't t/pn s2 kind of bad LOL#I just hope ss/kk will be made justice in the future (â„ïčâ„)#Especially since their new scenes (current manga events) are possibly going to be adapted in the first episodes of the new season.#If Bones pulls another s5ep3 on them you're going to see me on the news#Then again I have hope the arc finale will be adapted in a movie... Who knows...#Most of all I hope they change art style direction again D:#random rambles#Whaaaa it's so late already!!!#Edit: Oh also to not forget I've made like. One hundred posts. Maybe it's time to unfollow me now if you haven't already D:

Man I wonder where the leader of the fear realm could've gone, it's alMOST LIKE NEVIN HAS AN
#had to re-edit the image real quick because the original edit was from a post I made about Drew years ago#and while the Drew thing is becoming less and less likely. Nevin havinv one has basically been canon since#someone mentioned Greg's (was it Britney's) aura being familiar in s2ch1. ive been putting together a list of every line#that points to Nevin's aura throughout the whole thing (most from s2ch1 but then s2ch10 came out and it was really canon at that point)#but clearly i'm running out of time to say ''i fucking called it'' before it's explicitly stated and i dont want to be in another situation#where somebody else will beat me to a theory and me posting anything about it will seem like copying them. sorry about that btw i had#thought i had already mentioned theorizing that nevin was possessed by a demon in that old theory i made but i had forgotten that one was#super old and was about sigma. so no copying there i just got extremely paranoid there was a mention of a cult and i was like ''nuh uh#that's way too specific and out there of a detail to end up in both our theories'' and i forgot the rest of my super old post was outdated#as hell. and echos had gone ''yeah they're so similar!'' and i took their word for it but now i'm realizing they were probably just trying#to be supportive. so yeah no copying there i was just beaten to the punch of saying something. but i will NOT back down from the aura shit#because i have been calling that shit FROM THE START or at least since i started reading ibvs back when ch20 came out.#also not backing down from saying chris was the worse friend because these past few chapters are the first time isaac has done anything tha#could knowingly upset chris meanwhile chris has. let edward drag isaac to the lair after isaac said edward would beat him up. chose not to#believe edward was holding the secrets over their heads because 'it was something isaac had said' and then immediately distrusted edward in#the next chapter because a random person he didn't know said to steal a book (might i mention how that entire scene proves chris' lack of#development and refusal to take responsibility because it perfectly alludes to when chris had brought those fireworks into his old school#and makes me wonder if charlie has actually gotten him in trouble with his past schools or if he's still just not taking responsibility#and if him following nevin to the woods to test out their powers is an extension of ''if something bad happens its not my fault''#like seriously this man would bring a mysterious suitcase onto a plane if he's told to). uh what was i talking about agai#anyway on a related note my mental state has only gotten worse since i left tumblr and the habit of thinking about chris instead of sleepin#or doing schoolwork has not stopped. so i was still failing for a while and might graduate now but am still staying away from tumblr.#so yeah this was a little update and im not going to linger this time im just going to leave tumblr again right after hitting post#addendum because i just can't let things go. and was thinking about chris again. i don't think his lack of development is because of bad#writing (anymore. i used to.). instead i'm certain his character arc is going to continue into him following someone (nevin probably) into#doing something really bad. and then he'll finally get actual consequences and go 'oh shit i fucked up real bad this time'#if you think that theory is reaching too far into the future you should hear mine about isaac dying at the end lmao

#Doodles#SCII#Damned#Helix#ZEX#Dexter Favin#Hhhh they ;; Their ''first'' interaction!#Officially up to three cryings - not that I'm surprised I love Dex <3#My head was fully abuzz during this scene there are so so so many interesting details!#So interesting to see which ''held true'' and which were left behind - which ones became Helix while others didn't!#At this point I almost see Helix as an alternate timeline - kind of like how Defeated is a branching arm off the main body#Not terribly dissimilar but the details that are different are too interesting to let go of so just make it all canon in its own way! Hehe#Especially since Helix is largely from Max's 3rd person perspective so the way he tells it is different than Dexter haha#Very interesting what he leaves out in his retelling hehehehe âȘâ«#Anyhow enough of Max he's not even here rn sheesh âȘ ZEX! And Dexter ;;#Hghhghh it's all set up so deviously <3 That fact that up to this point ZEX has been relying on Zelnick especially to give him credence#And then as soon as someone he ''knows he trusts'' comes to throw a wrench into things - Dexter has as much weight or more!#He's specifically engineered to sow doubt and confusion! Gosh what a place to grow his character from <3 <3#ZEX's pride undoes him completely it's So well written â„ Truly a fatal flaw for VUX and the way he's picked apart aghh <3#And?? The fact that I can hear ''Max's'' voice in ZEX's syntax as soon as he doesn't have a good argument??? Hello????#I know they come from the same base but like!! How!!! Masterful đ#As I drew it it's a bit out of order - Dexter says he can't protect Max (đ) before ZEX starts crying it all got a bit mixed in my head#I was very emotional at the time you understand haha#It's all so sad! They're so close in some ways to being or having what the other wants but both fall just short#No wonder they took what little comfort in each other they could <3 ZEX comforted by his voice and Dex comforted by caring for his body#They have so little to offer each other trapped as they are ;;#It's all so interesting and distressing!! There's so much to think about as everything falls into place!

do you have any character analysis posts you're working on? i'm currently mulling Daya/Dia over in my head right now. In general, I'm thinking a lot about Kabru's team because they don't show up much in the manga and won't be in the show much longer as noticeable players, but have quite a bit of outside-the-manga content to comb through. Personally, I like the idea of Rin and Dia becoming friends with Marcille post-canon, but I want to know them better first. I know Rin pretty well already. 1/2
(for example, Rin/Dia/Marcille seem to like clothes, and i want to draw them clothes shopping.) And I ask this not to put all the work on you! I want to discuss these characters with somebody, and you're one of the only ones I can think of who enjoys doing in-depth dives into the side characters of Dungeon Meshi. You, summerboletes, shisurus, and ambrosiagourmet are some other blogs i can think of that made great meta posts. You can reply to this privately if you want! 2/2 (think about it. daya has a boyfriend and marries him post-canon. marcille loves romance and loves clothes. it'd be adorable if she helped daya find a wedding dress. like kabru introduces them and dia (god i'm so used to writing 'daya') mentions her wedding and marcille immediately pounces on her with eyes sparkling in excitement. i plan to write this fic one day)
This idea is so cute! Iâll also check out those other blogs you mentioned when I have the time to hehe~ I do latch onto minor characters easily but it doesnât mean I have much to say about everyone. Dia (agreed btw, the situation with Daya vs Dia is confusing)⊠I do like her, but I feel like her Adventurerâs Bible profile sums it all up quite nicely and straightforwardly honestly. Youâre right though her reaction to the treasure bugs was so cute and honestly surprising considering her appearance and demeanor, she does like pretty things and jewelry I could def see her going shopping. More content of her would definitely be fun, Iâd read your fic!! I do love imagining how everyoneâs relationships are like in Kabruâs party, the intricacies of it⊠I havenât mulled it over enough though. Iâve been thinking of Mickbell more because of recent posts though, also Rin⊠If youâd like, the dunmeshi discord Iâm in would be a good place to brainstorm about it I think! Hmu for an invite if you want
Summing up the posts Iâm working on was long so hereâs a cut out of mercy
I have 78 drafts on tumblr currently oh boy⊠The thing about my process is that I ramble easily but then I need to compile panels to illustrate the points and thatâs real tedious⊠Character analysis wise - Iâm most hyped about a Falin one on the topic of if sheâs a people pleaser, how much does she care, whatâs her way of thinking etc etc, also her differences with Laios because I hate seeing people seriously say theyâre the same person. - Also a Cithis one that I just need to streamline at this point. I want to analyze her demeanor, poke at her psychology and analyze her relationships, sheâs fascinating. - Oh Iâm so stupid I almost forgot to mention the one Iâve been working on currently about Thistle, the age shenanigans but in an in-world way where yes itâs wonky and it means something. He hauntssss me I have so many thoughts on Thistle & Falin lately. Like, offtopic for the analysis but⊠Falin loves nature and Thistle is named after a flower⊠Imagine her post-canon coming across wild thistles and feeling a rush of fondness and she doesnât know why⊠Thistles have thorns but they taste sweet⊠Peel of his thorns and eat him pls.
I have more Chilchuck & family thoughts coming, and more Toshiro & family, but these will have more of a casual brainstorm & speculating tone to them, I also just need to streamline these⊠Like I am obsessed about Toshiyuki and Chilchuckâs alcoholism Iâm sorry
Beyond those the topics of the character analysis become more specific, like - How much social awareness does Laios have? Not none, not a lot, but the specifics can be blurry in ways I think are interesting, he was sensitive to peopleâs judgements in his hometown after all, and he does worry about othersâ perception of him⊠He does know that buzzcut guy was taking advantage of him, etc etc. - Thereâs an extensive one I want to make on how the winged lion reflects abusive relationships, like how he targets all his âmealsâ's specific weaknesses and draws out the worst in each of them. A lot of Dunmeshi is about unity and overcoming prejudices & differences & flaws and forming deep and long-lasting bonds despite it all, and amongst all of it itâs like⊠How flawed relationships with flawed people can still be made into somehing good and healthy that make the world brighter⊠Except the winged lion there to represent abusive relationships which you need to fucking DITCH, lol. - And on the topic of Dunmeshi & relationships I want to talk about it and queerness, especially in the queerplatonic sense of blurring lines, and Izutsumi + Laiosâ relationship to touch should feature in those.
And my crown jewel but Iâm soooo hyped about the Marcille & Chilchuckâs arcs one Iâm working on itâs gonna go over so much stuff Iâm obsessed about, like the importance of books in Marcilleâs life, what the succubi reveal about the characters in what ways, the theme thatâs so prevalent in Dunmeshi of idealization, Marcilleâs imagery as a dungeon lord, a shepherd a general a princess a monster a damsel a woman in mourningâŠ
But thatâs enough for heavy ones, side characters wise: doing quick posts like for the gold-stripper characters has been great, but those usually come to me on the same day that I post them. I might make some analysis posts on say Mickbell or Holm or Otta, but I donât have the thread I want to follow yet. Flamelaâs been on my brain so much tooâŠ
Mostly though thereâs just a lot that I wouldnât write analysis for, but that Iâd love to explore in fanfics! For example, the hienbeni I want to write the most rn is about the surges of anger that Benichidori gets, impulsive and stressed out. I havenât made a post on my Izutsumi & Benichidori brotp and all the interesting parallels I think I have, but Iâve written a fic on it! Same about Chilchuckâs daughters and their relationship with his alcoholism, etc. I explored the guilt and confliction he may feel about his wife in my fic Enough as well, etc etc. You can see my fics here! For Kabruâs party lately mickrin has been having a chokehold on my brain, Iâd love love love to explore Rinâs and Mickbellâs characters and issues through fics for them. As I think you might have figured, I love to explore characters through the lenses of relationships they have with others (Cithis & Mithrun and Pattadol, Thistle and Falin, etc), and thatâs why for example I love to make posts that pitch ship ideas, I think specific dynamics can really have a lot to say about either characters. Oh another oneâs toshimari, I want to make a fic about them and their feelings of being foreigners and not being able to integrate well to The Island, through the plot of them going to a restaurant as coworkers and the food they eat there~
These are only the ones I have at the top of my head thoughâŠâŠâŠ. Someone help me Hopefully this post wasnât boring lol, but yeah those are my wips rn. Need to make posts on toshimari, kabushuro, cithaios, cittadela and ships like that I think have interesting potential too. Many of these Iâve mentioned here Iâve had in my drafts for like 6 months btw gdvd đ
#Fumi updates#Rinsha fana#marcille donato#diamond of sadena#Ask#wips#I like to have a ânarrativeâ of sorts when doing analysis posts so things feel like they have an aim#which is why finding an angle or focusing on specific scenes or a dynamic is important#Like i might make a dia x holm post that details what i think their personality traits and life experiences are and how i think that could#explore their characters in interesting or fun ways but a dia or holm analysis on their own eh idk. I do think Holmâs more cryptic though#What do his spirits mean to him? How does his religion affect him? He freezes up when thereâs too much going on⊠I love you#Iâm just rambling now though save me

jurassic world chaos theory is very good. its kind of insanely good for something that's a sequel to goddamn Camp Cretaceous. and im losing my mind because no one i know gives a single damn about it but it's like. actually so fucking good
#theres so fucking much that I could go off about#camp cretaceous was a kids show that we watched merely for the dinosaurs while accepting that its silly#all the kids are teenagers and its a kids cartoon so obviously theres going to be tons of plot armor and childish plots etc#but now chaos theory is like. 6 years later. and the characters are all adults and have moved out#and its still kid friendly but has subtly more adult appeal#and its actually kind of so fucking cool. like hey i know those guys#from that kids show that i watched while knowing that it is not made to appeal to me at all#but now theyre closer to my age and my audience and i actually relate to the stage of life theyre at#theres so many neat background details like the way they decorate their houses#the soundtrack actually fucking bops#or rather not the soundtrack itself but the way they use it#theres so many scenes i notice that i Notice the music sets in at the right moment#theyre not afraid to let quiet contemplative scenes be quiet and contemplative#theres obviously still a lot of plot armor and some silly moments but generally i feel like the characters are actually In Danger now#namely because the series opens up with the reveal that ONE OF THEM FUCKING DIED?????????????????#i mean im obviously expecting by the end that theyre going to actually be alive surprise surprise#but theres flashbacks with a Pool Of Blood and the entire series so far is spent believing that they ARE Dead#this series was made to appeal to me specifically (kids show I watched for funsies gets a sequel made for my demographic instead)

hey there! I know you've only talked about it twice but i'd love to hear about your exhels western au!/nf
HI. HELLO
Okay it's been sooo long since I talked about this to anyone let me remember
If this sounds incoherent that's because I've only talked with one person about it at length, months and months ago
Where we start Ex is on the run from England for treason (what they did is unimportant, just a coup) and runs to the very edge of civilization, the heart of America. But in getting there they used all their money and has to turn to stealing, they get pretty good at it to, becoming a bit infamous.
Meanwhile Hels is deputy in a small town with Wels who is sheriff and he's so tired of it. It's boring, a stifling job under a brother he's always been seen as second best to.
So maybe when Ex comes to town and Hels happens to catch them he lets them go, maybe several times, because at least this is something new - someone new. And so maybe they fall in love and maybe they meet in the dead of night, until Wels catches them and throws Ex in jail. This is the deciding moment Hels has been waiting for, so he breaks them out and agrees to run away with them and join in on their life of crime
But there's an issue
The scar on Ex's face, under their mask. A Cheshire grin that never healed quite right the cruel reminder of why Ex will never be accepted by most people ever again.
Infection sets in quick, they didn't make it far before Ex's injury had gotten bad. Really bad. With them at deaths door and no other options Hels swallowed his pride and fear and took them back to his town.
He begged Wels not to throw them in jail or turn in Ex, to harbor them just long enough for Ex to heal and live. Wels almost didn't want to, the reward money for turning in Ex dead or alive would be enough to fix up this little town and give it new life.
But looking at his little brother on the verge of tears over this criminal, this stranger, he realized he just couldn't do it. Even though Hels had betrayed him and run away.
He called for their doctor and kept their existence in his house secret for the weeks it took Ex to heal. When he woke up one morning and they were both gone he knew chances were he'd never see either again, but he still felt like he'd made the right choice.
From there I have less of a coherent plot and more general stuff, they do have two horses a Clydesdale and an unknown breed (I know what you're thinking but there is a story reason behind the horse types), and on their journey to who knows where they slowly decide they'd like to stop being on the run and settle down for once.
Then it turns into mostly domestic fluff about them and their ranch/animals. They'd also run into other hermits too though I won't name names until I have things more thought out.

Writers, hereâs your reminder that you should be doing warm-ups!
Athletes need to warm up. Musicians need to warm up. Artists need to warm up. Heck, I even have to play a few matches in video games before I get into a groove every day.
Warm-ups help you get into the right headspace, give you more control of your actions and word choice, get you comfortable in your physical setting (eg: with your keyboard, notebook, tablet, or whatever you're writing with), and spark creativity.
Even if you donât think you have spoons to write, sit down and do a couple warm-ups. If you still donât want to, thatâs alright. But. I think youâll be surprised how often they help break that ice.
5-15 minutes is all you need. I personally set a timer for ten minutes each time and do not stop writing until the time is up. Your warm-up can be anything at all so long as it gets you writing and starts nudging those creative juices.
Here's some common warm-ups:
Journaling. Just jot down some notes about your day. Feel free to really lean into something that you noticed. We're going for description and details -- try to avoid settling into a spiral or focusing on something negative that will upset your creativity.
Short story prompts. Type that into Pinterest and pick the most ridiculous, cliche thing you can. Write a little scene, story summary, or even a rant about why you do or don't like the prompt. Just write.
Vocab challenge. If you like a bit more critical thinking to get you in the zone, have a random vocabulary word generator spit out five or so words. Check their meanings and jot down a little story or thought that includes all five. You get more familiar with beautiful and descriptive language, and it gives you a much narrowed prompt (which is lovely if you're like me and suffer each time there's an open-ended task assigned).
Character moments. Try putting your character into a generic setting and write down almost meticulously what their thought process would be. Follow them realizing they've just stepped in mud or dreading the start of the day. Pick a mundane thing and describe them working through it. This will not only get your writing going, but it will wake up the character's voice in your head.
Ongoing storytelling. Did you know that Whinnie the Poo was A.A. Milne's warm up story? He would jot down a quick little story with those very basic characters and did so every day. Whatever came to mind. He kept writing little tidbits on the same characters and eventually it turned into a series. Having that ongoing plot with isolated scenes and simple characters can help you feel more motivated to sit down and write.
Get-to-know-you-questions. Google a list of basic first-date questions (there are a million out there) and answer one yourself. Go into specifics. Where do you most want to travel and why? Let yourself ramble until the question is fully answered.
Writer's block blues. This is a favorite of mine. If you're truly stuck, write about being stuck. Eg: 'I'm supposed to write for ten minutse, but that feels so stupid and impossible. No one is goign to read this anyway. I have no ideas and the page is so overwhelming when its blank. I used to be able to write on and on and nothing could stop me. it was like breathing. but now I have nothign and do nothing and I can't even do a stupid prompt-' Even the rambling and ranting got me writing. It made things easier. It made writing this post easier. Also -- notice the typos? Yeah, don't fix those. You're in writing mode, not editing mode when you're doing this. If you edit while you write, you're forcing yourself to stay in your executive and calculating headspace rather than falling fully into creativity and dream. Ignore the mistakes. That's for future you to handle.
I've officially rambled far too much, but I hope that helps even a little bit. Live well and write often, my friends. Best of luck to you <3

I want to talk about why I think this is the one of the most important Falin panels:
So, Falin is really nice, right? It's one of the first things we really learn about her. She's kind even to the monsters of the dungeon - choosing to ward the party rather than fight spirits and cause them needless harm.
In the above early flashback in chapter 11, we see Marcille fawning over Falin's kindness, calling her an angel. Namari calls her soft-hearted. We see Falin choose not to fight even when a zombie attacks - instead she resolves the confrontation with a hug. After the flashback, the first thing Senshi says is that Falin "sounds like quite the person," which Marcille strongly affirms.
At this point in the story, all we have seen of Falin are these impressions; she is a healer, an angel, a caretaker with an infinite well of kindness towards everyone she meets - both friend and foe.
And honestly, that remains most of what we have to go by to understand her. The only times we get to see Falin on the page, alive and just herself, are in the opening and closing pages of the story and in the brief period of time after she is resurrected.
Nonetheless, we do have some more details to work with. For one, there is the scene that The Panel is from - a short memory in chapter 75, when Marcille flashes back to while she's dying. In that scene, Falin prepares to teleport them all out, and says that she's sorry "if there is a person at [their] destination." And that's when we get The Panel.
If you teleport someone or something into another person, the person teleported into is likely to be, at minimum, severely injured. They could die.
We can see a lovely little horrifying example of exactly why in one of the Daydream Hour doodles:
So, hmm. That's not... that's not SUPER nice. Certainly not displaying the same "kindness to all, friend and foe included" we saw represented earlier. On a basic level, this adds some nuance to Falin's kindness. We see it break a little, when pushed to the limit. We see her chose to protect the people she loves above all else.
Which makes sense! As Laios says when the Winged Lion accuses him of similarly being motivated more by his friends' safety than everyone else in the dungeon, "...most people, aside from virtuous do-gooders, would feel the same way."
So, we can take The Panel as simply showing a moment of weakness for Falin. A time when she was pushed to her limits, and that "most people" selfish side of her shone through.
However... I think there's a little more going on with Falin than just her being an angel 99% of the time, except just that once. I love The Panel because I think it helps us understand that Falin isn't just motivated by kindness - she also has a desire to avoid seeing people in pain.
Isn't that the same thing?
No, no it very much is not.
Let's look at a short comic from the Falin section of the Adventurer's Bible, because I think it illustrates this point perfectly. The group is complaining about how much Marcille's healing hurts, and comparing it to Falin's, which "doesn't hurt a bit." Marcille retorts with the following:
Now, the punchline of this comic is that, despite Marcille's sentimental assertion that she's "thinking of [them]" by letting her healing magic hurt, they all still prefer to be healed by Falin.
But hey, this wouldn't be the first time that Dungeon Meshi hides a very real character beat or insight in a gag, so let's think about this somewhat seriously.
If Marcille is right (and she knows a fair bit about magic, so we can assume that she has at least somewhat of a point), then what Falin is doing isn't kind. I suppose if someone specifically requested to not feel the pain, it could be kind, but that's not really what happened here. She is the one who felt badly about the others being in pain, and she is the one who decided, without telling them or giving them a choice in the matter, to take away that pain.
Both Marcille and Falin are healing the party, but Marcille is doing it in a way that accomplishes the task in the most straight forward way, without any additional interference. Falin is going out of her way to perform the healing in a way she is more comfortable with. A way that avoids pain.
Going back the The Panel, I don't think its a coincidence that the only time we see Falin (well, non-chimera Falin) willing to do something that could hurt someone is when any potential pain will be far away from her. If she got someone hurt or killed by teleporting the party to the surface? Not only would it be far out of her sight, but she'd be dead before she had to deal with any consequences of that action.
Falin is not a confrontational person. She doesn't push when Marcille won't tell her the truth about the resurrection, and she comforts Laios about her own death - both of those things happening in the only full chapter she is alive and conscious in the whole story.
We also know that she considered accepting Shuro's proposal, despite not having any special feelings towards him, and that Falin never explained to Marcille that she wanted them to share a meal together. When she brought Marcille various foods at the academy, she just accepted Marcille's confused rejection and gave up.
And lastly, we know that she is still in contact with her parents, despite the neglect and abuse she suffered at their hands. Although the way someone chooses to handle contact with abusive or bad family is a complicated topic, which I don't want to overly simplify, I do I think this fact gets at the heart of how she handles conflict.
So many people that Falin loves have hurt her. There are understandable hurts, like Laios leaving the village, or Marcille not understanding the food. And there are bigger, far less justifiable hurts - like her parents neglecting her throughout her childhood, and sending her away to be alone at the magic academy.
It doesn't seem like Falin has ever confronted any of it directly.
And the unhealthy aspects of this kind of avoidance of pain and confrontation is one of the things that the story of Dungeon Meshi is all about. We see Laios grapple with it before he goes to kill Falin, and we see Marcille acknowledge it at the end of the story, when she tells Laios that she has come to terms with Falin's death:
Eating is a part of life. Consuming other living things is a part of life. It isn't really possible to avoid that pain - you can only hide from the truth of it. You have to be selfish everyday. You have to eat - to choose to live. To choose to take up space.
And this is something Falin embraces, too. She comes back to life, after all.
We see her choose to come back to life.
And how does she make that choice? She eats. She consumes, and then she is asked a question by the manifestation of hunger itself:
Do you want to eat more?
There is a double meaning in the Winged Lion's final words on the next page.
When I first read this, I took it as him saying: life is cruel. You will suffer. You will feel more pain.
But perhaps, especially for Falin, this also means: you are choosing a path where you must cause pain. Where you must consume. Where you must take, and must be selfish. Because eating is the special privilege of the living, and it is their burden, too. In order to stay alive, she will need to keep eating.
And she chooses that. Chooses to be selfish. It's why her resurrection scene is so important, and it's why The Panel is so important. Because Falin coming back isn't the ultimate reward for all of the party's hard work.
It's her choice. Just like it was her choice that started everything in the first place. But this time, she doesn't choose to accept causing pain for the sake of Marcille and Laios. She does it for her own sake.

how i manifested my dream life with extremely hard circumstances + how you can too âĄ

Note: this is not my post and it's blushydior's post that everyone been searching for, so i thought why not making it as a post, and blushy if you see this, please don't kill me i know you said that you'll change your post but you disappeared After that.
⥠table of contents:
1. the importance of making this post
2.my take on manifestation + the 3D
3. HOW I DID ITÂ - my journey in 4 phases i went through that include my mindset changes up to the moment i got my desiresÂ
4. your new rules & routine from this moment on
5. a note from me!
6. frequently asked questions: separated into topics regarding the 3D, self concept + miscellaneous questions to have you leaving this post stress free.
now letâs get into it. read every bit of this post â ~ àšà§Â âĄÂ ·

I. THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING THIS POST
iâve been through it all. you can read my experiences from old life in the âmy life beforeâ section of my success story + here, here, here and here. this is my success story on how the law of assumption has changed my life. as you can see from the âhowâ section of the post, i had purposely left it short, sweet and simple to avoid people complicating the simplicity of the law of assumption. but as time went on, anons and other blogs made me realize that since people do tend to over-complicate the law, the need i felt to make an in-depth post on how i personally manifested through my hard circumstances grew strong.
my blog often highlights topics that pertain to mental health, so i want to make sure those who find themselves in the same situations as i once were feel seen, heard and loved. you are all so powerful, amazing and hold so much potential more than you know. with this post, i hope i am able to help you realize that fact to the best of my abilities.
đđ. MY TAKE ON MANIFESTATION + THE 3D
something that youâll see me say all the time is: âlife is a blank canvas.â thatâs because it truly is.
remember that you are working with the law of assumption. what you assume to be true, is true. nothing is set in stone unless you say it is. things have meaning only if you assign it one.
you are the sole creator of your life. you are the artist that controls the brush/pen, you control what goes on and off of this very malleable canvas we call life. you donât have to do anything. therefore,
you donât have to: affirm 24/7, be specific, word your affirmations correctly, listen to subliminals, ignore the 3D, be positive all the time, meditate, have high vibrations, script, visualize, do sats or lullaby, go into the void, affirm in the present tense, avoid the mirror, etc.
you can literally say a random word like âbonkâ and if saying it means you have all your desires or money is constantly filling your bank account, then thatâs what will happen!
âbut what if my subconscious doesnât know what it means?â your subconscious mind is literally you. itâs not some stranger separate from you. if you want a scene to play out a certain way on a specific date or a romantic partner with all the most perfect qualities even if you canât name it all at the top of your head, your subconscious has your back with the details! you have your own back. donât worry.
YOU DONâT HAVE TO IGNORE THE 3D.
read that again and again and again and again and-if your circumstances are quite literally in your face, how can you turn the other way and ignore it? you could if you wanted but youâll only be doing more harm and we donât want that, right?
âso then what do i do?â you KNOW itâs going to change. itâs challenging when you donât fully believe the law to know itâs going to change, so for a start, tell yourself that this is not the end. why? because the moment you had a desire and claimed it as yours, it has already been set stone in the 4D so the 3D has no choice but to reflect it. this is your movie, you KNOW this is not the end. you are director and star of this movie! you control how itâs going to play out.
đđđ. HOW I DID IT - The 4 Phases (more so, 3)
PHASE 1:
i found out about manifestation from tiktok. from there i have tried scripting, law of attraction and had taken a liking into the craft. i tried it all until i found out about the law of assumption, sammy ingram and finally, tumblr.
PHASE 2:
upon finding out about loassumption tumblr, i had learned more and more about the law but as time went on, i had realized i had never really fully tried to apply the law. the idea just didnât come about to apply it. as many others, i had overconsumed information, always wondering if i was doing it right, questioning the 3D,
so i took a break. upon discharge, i realized many things and decided to spend an extended amount of time alone, away from social media. iâm someone who values alone time as long as if itâs spent wisely.
during this time away from tumblr and sns platforms in general, constantly surrounded by other peopleâs takes, information, and opinions, i had learned so much about the law of assumption on my own! i went into the law of assumption with a fresh mind, actually applying the knowledge and overtime of affirming and persisting, i ACTUALLY understood the meaning behind âcreation is finished. it is done.â
iâm advising you to step away from social media (that on itâs own has negative impacts) and be alone with your thoughts. i know your thoughts havenât had itâs time to be alone because youâre most likely constantly seeking information to help you. and i donât blame you. itâs just that, you are always bombarded by thoughts that arenât your own, you barely give some time to yourself to think for yourself!
and if you canât help but be on tumblr for other reasons than loassumption, unfollow blogs for the time being, scroll past informational posts to avoid second guessing your application. tell yourself that
YOU ARE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT!
PHASE 3:
when it was time to apply the law, i simplified it. you choose what you desire, you affirm from your desire and persist. okay! got it. so thatâs what i did. i affirmed whenever i thought about my desire, i kept saying that it is done! so in phase 2, i mentioned how i realized how creation was ACTUALLY done, right? before deciding to apply the law, i kept seeing posts saying that but i didnât really fully understand it until the realization hit me during my time away from social media. (see? i love alone time. solitude is my bff) â hereâs my breakdown for you:
once you decide a desire is yours to claim, THE SECOND you affirm that, in your head, imagination, your 4D, it is ALREADY yours. therefore, it has no choice to become physical reality. (this is why your subconscious only needs to hear things once in order for it to conform!)
it will always be yours for as long as you sustain that assumption (persist), it is yours! no matter what.
this is the meaning of âit is done.â itâs like telling a chef what dish you want, once they know what you want, theyâve got you covered. except that this chef is you. you know the details of your desire, you declare itâs going to conform instantly so why are you worrying? there is no need to worry.
informational post on the 4D + 3D here:
â If you judge after appearances, you will continue to be enslaved by the evidence of your senses. To break this hypnotic spell of the senses you are told, "Go within and shut the door,â The door of the senses must be tightly shut before your new claim can be honored .Instead of fighting against the evidence of the senses you claim yourself to be that which you desire to be. As your attention is placed on this claim, the doors of the senses automatically close against your former master (that which you were conscious of being). As you become lost in the feeling of being (that which you are now claiming to be true of yourself) the doors of the senses once more open, revealing your world to be the perfect expression of that which you are conscious of being. â
i kept time away from social media and being persistent really helped me be aware of my thoughts.
persistence has helped me:
be aware of thoughts that i wouldnât have been able to catch before. for example, i was declaring that i have all of my desires and creation was done, but i found myself affirming âokay but where is it?â â this made me realize i was questioning my desires in my 3D even though i knew it was done in the 4D. (you donât have to do this, you can imply your 3D conforms fast with whatever affs)
flip and interrupt my intrusive thoughts faster and faster the more i persisted. i hated my intrusive thoughts so much. like it was so annoying and hurtful. it was filled with replaying past scenarios that happened to me, things i wished had played out differently, just people who absolutely did not deserve the right to be occupying my mind and space! so i was grateful to learn that with persistence, i started to have less and less of those.
(see!! mental diet, persistence!! <3 this is how habits form and strengthen duhh. remember not to abandon common sense for the law)
AND THEN, PHASE 4:
i had entered sabbath, the state of the wish fulfilled, calm and relaxation that my desire has already manifested and there wasnât nothing left for me to do other than persist. after so much persisting and saturating my mind with my affirmations, i reached being peace with my desires. iâm really glad i persisted. see how after persistence of assumptions, though false, will harden into fact? see how even your affirmations would feel âfakeâ at first but will soon feel natural to you? this means that i wasnât questioning where it was, how long it was taking, etc. but this doesnât mean i was ignoring my 3D. i saw it all but i knew it was going to change BECAUSE i felt peace in my inevitable desires.
then, i received my desires.
â I couldnât possibly be worried about anything if I really believe that imagining creates reality. â
â When I speak of feeling I do not mean emotion, but acceptance of the fact that the desire is fulfilled. Feeling grateful, fulfilled, or thankful, it is easy to say, âThank You,â âIsnât it wonderful!â or âIt is finished.â When you get into the state of thankfulness, you can either awaken knowing it is done, or fall asleep in the feeling of the wish fulfilled. â
đđ. YOUR NEW RULES & ROUTINE
ââYOUR 3 NEW RULES ARE:
1, you have all your desires:
i have all of my desires.
creation is finished. it is done.
2. you manifest quickly and easily:
manifesting is always so easy and instant for me.
i always manifest within 2 days or less, the 3D conforms instantly.
the 3D instantly reflect my 4D.
the physical reality instantly reflects my 4D/imaginative reality.
3. you are okay because nothing can stop you from getting the inevitable:
everything is going to be okay because creation is done.
i am always aware of my thoughts. nothing can stop/get in the way of my desires.
no amount of intrusive thoughts, events and opinions of others have the power to stop my manifestations.
âïž: choose one affirmation from each list or make one of your own that makes you feel comfortable.
ââROUTINE:
affirm on loop as an act of saturating your mind whenever you think of your desire until you feel satisfied,
in the morning, after you wake up: saturate your mind with affs.
read the manifesting vaunt below everyday (whenever you feel like it) â read it over and over again until you feel confident then go about your day!!
at night, before you sleep, affirm this:
âi kept all my thoughts in check today. i didnât waver once. my mind is completely saturated with the new story.â
optional tip: if you want to saturate your mind even more as a start, you can set reminders with sticky notes around your space, have affs on your phone lock screen or wear a bracelet.
âïž NOTE: soon enough, your mind will be saturated and you wonât need to do this anymore. this is just a start for those who battle intrusive thoughts!
let yourself feel any emotions that may come up because of your hard circumstances then once itâs out of your system, affirm your rules, especially rule #3!
do not consume any loassumption information if you know it will only cause you to second guess your ability. if you have the urge to ask a blog a question, try to make sense of what they will say and answer it yourself.
in times of doubt, remember that life is a blank canvas. your desire is set in stone, so your only task is to persist.
REASSURANCE VAUNT
creation is ACTUALLY finished. it is done. the second i claimed my desires as mine, it has already manifested itself in the 4D so it has no choice to present itself in the 3D! all i have to do is affirm and persist. i always have unwavering faith in my manifesting abilities and the law. i never fail. i am successful at every single thing i do. manifesting is so effortless. no amount of doubt, worry, fear, anxiety, intrusive thoughts or events can ever, and i mean EVER stop my manifestations. why? because i said so. this is MY life. i make the rules. so if i say i manifest easily, the 3D conforms instantly and that i have all of my desires, then it is a FACT. iâm literally unstoppable. everything i want is inevitable. my only task is to persist, sit back and relax as the 3D reflects my 4D. it all happens so fast, but what else do you expect from a master manifester like me?
SOMETHING TO NOTE:
most of the time, people think affirming on loop is saying it like a robot but what you donât realize is that youâre affirming as if youâre reading a book. itâs not filled with enthusiasm but itâs not exactly monotone either. stop overthinking it. itâs like the voice youâre reading this post with. correct?
again, soon enough, your affirmations will feel natural and you wonât feel the need to affirm constantly. the routine above was given for those who battle intrusive thoughts, making your affirmations dominate to the point where you donât waver.
QUOTES on STATES:
â I paid thirty dollars for my first suit. Today a suit will cost me $200.00, but regardless of the cost, when the suit is new I am aware of it. But let me wear it long enough for it to feel natural and I will no longer be conscious of it. The same is true for a state. You may desire the state of fame. If you will think you are famous and remain conscious of the state long enough to make it natural, as the thoughts flow from you they become a natural part of your body of beliefs, and the world will proclaim your fame. â
â I urge you to use your own wonderful creative power and deliberately move into the state of your choice. Make it now by occupying the state long enough so that it feels natural. Havenât you had a suit of clothes that felt so new you were conscious of them every moment? I know when I bought my first suit I walked down Fifth Avenue thinking everyone I passed knew my suit was new. People passing paid no attention to me, but I was so aware, so conscious of my new suit. Thatâs exactly that happens when you move into a new state. If the state of affluence is new, you think everyone knows it, but no one knows or cares whether you are rich or poor, so walk in the state until it becomes natural. The moment the feeling is natural, wealth is yours! â
đ. ENDING NOTE
i love you. read that again. you can do it. read that again. i am so so so so proud of you. read that again! you are so strong, you have SOO much potential and power. itâs time for you to tap into it, angel. stop making excuses. stop telling yourself you canât do it. stop the nonsense! youâve dealt with your hard circumstances long enough, itâs time for you to turn to the person who can make that change (you) and make it happen. iâm really sorry you have to go through what you did. you certainly do not deserve the unkind treatment. give yourself a hug and tell yourself that this. is. it. youâre going to make the change. you know it and i do too. itâs possible. nothing is impossible for the person who believes! keep the faith in yourself. nothing can stop you.
itâs like those movies where the mc finds out they hold so much power. they doubt it because of the life theyâve had so far but once they give it a shot, they become the most powerful hero ever. you are that hero!!!
i love you and i am, again, giving you the biggestttt hug ever.
now, with that being said, @blushydiorâ will no longer be taking asks regarding this topic. iâve cleared most of the questions that could ever arise. you donât need my guidance anymore after this post! im seeing you off now. i love you. stay safe. know that youâre loved and hold the power to change your life.
â kisses from bambi Ù©(ËáË*)Ù âĄ
ps. make sure you clicked the words that have links! <3 (the links are missing)
đđ. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Something you wish you couldâve told yourself before you manifested it all to make things easier for anyone struggling:
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
you guys are beating yourself up for something so simple. take a step back and realize that. youâre already dealing with such hard circumstances, so why are you literally degrading yourself for something so within your power and reach? tell yourself everything is going to be okay. youâre always doing your best. you deserve the WORLD.
I could write a whole novel, combine all the posts on tumblr teaching the law of assumption, and every helpful ask out there but at the end of the day, YOU are the only person who could change your life. YOU make the call. turn every doubtful question to a positive one, when in doubt, turn inwards toward the 4D and know that it is real. it is done the second you affirmed it so.
SPEND TIME ALONE.
i can NOT stress this enough. i didnât include the details of my time alone in phase 2 for nothing. youâll see that you can answer your own questions. youâll catch the thoughts you missed because you have always been so adamant on getting answers to questions you already knew. take a deep breathe and stay firm.
SEE WHATâLL HAPPEN IF YOU DONâT GIVE UP.
What did you affirm to get your dream life?
basically my affirmations i gave above and these. all i used were blanket affirmations.
What does persisting mean to you? What does persisting really feel like? Is it just like a mental diet? or what?
âpersisting is sticking to what you want / the end no matter what youâre shown, told, and what you experience + picking yourself up after letting any negative emotions & thoughts pass by.â â blushydior from this ask here (sadly the link is missing:()
+ keeping your thoughts in line of the same category. to word this in a different way, i can affirm so many affirmations just as long as they mean the same thing to me!
âit also is a mental diet. weâre always persisting in something. itâs just a matter of what youâre persisting in. you either persist in your desire or negative/non-beneficial thought 24/7.â
âin your post about how you changed your life, you said you just affirmed and persisted. but from your other posts it seems like you read neville goddard books. so did you just affirm or did you do imaginal acts too? i get confused when people say âjust affirm and persistâ cause neville never said that.â (original ask here) (note from Eli: the link is missing).
âyes, i read his books and sometimes i would do imaginal acts but i would only do that bc it helped me get by my circumstances, yk? like if i was overwhelmed i would just daydream lol. its like how i read books to escape to another world. but i would say, affirming and persisting was what i focused more on.
i just used what worked for me and used his quotes as a reminder of the power of man. i didnât want to bound myself to oneâs teaching constantly worrying if im doing it ârightâ or not so instead, i went back to his quotes that consisted of telling me to persist, look inwards, finding confirmation in my imagination, etc whenever i needed a pick me up.
but correct me if iâm wrong, iâm pretty sure many of the success stories he shared consisted of people simply decreeing their desires and feeling the wish fulfilled simply by repetition and acceptance of their assumption.â
What is saturating your mind?
read about it here (the link is missing, but Basically it is repeating an affirmation every minute or hour until you feel fulfilled)
Do we have to believe our affirmations? Did you ever doubt the law in the process?
no, i did not believe my affirmations and YES of course i doubted the law but i kept persisting either way because what could i lose? and here i am.
Did you just affirm, persist, maintain a mental diet and thatâs it? No SATS, going to the void, lullaby, repeating affirmations? Did you just got it sleep?
just affirming and persisting. sure, the occasional lullaby, i usually affirmed for 10 seconds max before i gave up. i couldnât sleep without imagining some romantic scenario LOL #bambiexposed
How to deal with manipulation and narcissism?
remind yourself that youâre in advantage because you know about the law of assumption. life is a dream, you can literally have whatever you want just by affirming. if you know that, why allow yourself succumb to other peopleâs thoughts and beliefs? i couldnât allow other peopleâs thoughts ruin my chance of living my dream life. the thought of it alone gave me the worst feeling.
How did you tackle the feelings of having no hope? + After being in the victim state for so long what did you do to get yourself out and actually stay out?
i persisted on loop whenever i doubted the law. i reminded myself that it doesnât hurt to just be quiet, affirm and persist to live my dream life. just do it. you gain nothing from turning back to your old habits. see whatâll happen if you donât give up. â Do you always turn to your imagination and, no matter what happens, do you remain faithful to the state imagined? If you do, you have passed the test. But if every little rumor, doubt, or fear can move you around like a pawn on a chessboard, then you are not keeping the faith! â â Objects seem so independent of our perception of them that we incline to forget that they owe their origin to imagination.â
What was the timeframe of when you got your desires?
about a week after deciding to be strict with self discipline, mind you, i was dealing with hard circumstances and intrusive thoughts for years. within this time span, i had entered sabbath so i immediately got my desires.
How did you kept a positive mindset when it looked like there was no movement?
refer back to phase 3
What was your affirming routine?
AT FIRST, when i started to get sick of overconsumption and not getting my desires, i knew my mind wasnât saturated/my desires were not my dominant thoughts. so, i decided to be strict with myself. i reminded myself with pieces of paper in my room that said: â PERSIST. new story only!â â AFFIRM!â
â 1.) the 3D conforms instantly.
2.) AFFIRM THE DESIRED
3.) BE LOT.â
and taped them on the wall infront of my bed & one on my door so i can see it before i head out.
i didnât need them anymore after a few days. (phase 3 & 4)
What did you do on all the days you woke up and things were still the same?
stop affirming that you donât see results. i flipped the thought of ânothingâs changed.â to âi am in my desired reality, it is done.â and so on. be stern and remind yourself that you are in control. donât fall prey to the 3D. turn inwards, find confirmation in the 4D. read quotes above.
How did you not react to the 3D?
i allowed myself to be angry. if i wanted to cry, i did. if i wanted to vent, i did. i ranted my feelings out in my head, aloud or in a journal then proceeded to go back to the new story after i cooled down.
But isnât ranting ânot letting the old story die out?â
you and i could rant until our minds are cleared, just as long as you flip my thoughts, you are on the right track. i ranted for 2% of my 24 hour days. the other 98% i was persisting in the fact that creation was done. as âtimeâ went on, it began to feel more natural and i felt more at ease. i held onto that feeling because i knew this was when i would get my desires and i did. letting out and actually feeling your feelings is important. youâre not a robot.
Did you script how your life would be?
no.
